They put in whoever the hell they want in the game and forever reason they see as justified. • Kuma/Panda - Lowest usage throughout the franchise. They are brought back because hyper casuals know Tekken as, "The game with the bear" • Shaheen - Mid-Eastern representation. • Leo - There being an androgynous character keeps the alphabet gang off their backs. etc.
Remember when MvC Infinite was coming out and the dev was talking about how we supposedly don’t want the actual character, but only the function that character does? Shaheen fits that to a T.
To have Shaheen over characters like Anna, Lei, Miguel, Bob, Julia, Armor King is just laughable. We know damn well most characters in Tekken 8 are just filler at this point. The chatacters i mentioned are gonna be DLC money makers. I just hit Red ranks and i think ive only fought maybe 1 this whole time. Shit ive already fought Eddy way more then Shaheen already and Shaheen was was base roster. Namco and Harada know damn well what they are doing and us as players arent fucking stupid. Tekken shop and battlepass is one thing but to keep loved, popular, legacy characters behind a paywall is just a slap in the face to long time fans.

It brought my mind that they picked early because i know for sure that they have big plans for other tekken characters that some are OG. Ofcourse tekken 7 newcomers as well. They're doing this like how guilty gear strive is doing with the game. Hearing that there will be a dlc story mode. This is gonna be interesting.
Damage Control at it's best, Shaheen is definitely a flop, the usage rate doesn't lie, he's a little better than his T7 version but he is still a dry character and quite boring, Idk what they can do to fix him, but i don't see any hope for him going forward, At this point they should have just made a whole new Middle Eastern Character.
Shaheen is cool I’m Middle Eastern from Jordan & I use him as a pocket character. I have him in the blue ranks right now but his damage compared to other characters is just so underwhelming. I think he’d be used more if he got some minor buffs
His combos are strong. I can get 71 damage from a df2. No heat and rage needed. He's got strong power mids too in T8. He only lacks a strong damaging low from netural
His too basic to be loved as a character it's just an empty character purely made to appeal to people from that area that care about seeing their nationality in tekken. Which Is just simply not a lot his pick rate is insanely low

They have deep rooted fighting game knowledge as pros so they’re able to see a gem of a character moveset when they see it The rest of the community however is literally brain dead. They either only care about mishimas or over the top/anime shit or cheap carry characters

Last Tekken I played was Tekken 3, so my opinion doesn’t really count but I’ll put it here as a noob/less than casual person who is interested in Tekken. When I saw Shaheen in T7, I thought he was very cool, and it was nice to see a Middle Eastern character, in Tekken they didn’t gender or race swap an existing character, they just made a new one. I was interested in trying him in T8 but I found his dialogue cringe, to be cool he has to say less words, but it sounds like he’s garbling as many Arabic words as he can into one breath. I found it cringe.

As of right now I'm running into more Pandas or Kumas than I am Shaheen. So I feel he definitely died of of people's interest. But on the same token, yes you do have to consider representing different countries, I'm all for that. I'm still surprised that Eddy was the only dlc character released when tekken 7 released 3 or 4. Anna for example should have already been released.

Shaheen needs more spice. Gameplay he needs something crazy to put in that competitive edge. Story bamco needs to more serious with his story and make a way more important figure in the overall story/tekken universe. i dont like Shaheen, in tekke n7 if Law is rushdown slide, Lee defensive slide then shaheen is both but dont excel at anything so he boring asf but in tekken 8 he just another Law rushdown sliding character he doesnt have any character defining move..he just stole the OG slide but didnt became his own thing like Lee..
His character defining move is ff3. The cool surfing animation ender and it also can switch sides if you use it before screw. That's one of the most unique tools in the game. Makes him dangerous when near walls on both sides.
@@David-ws6do I see, that's fare they also gave him that annoying 2D jump and a lot of moves to give him unseeable crouch setup that some are plus but he still bland some of his moves are just a cheap copy of other character moves, his playstyle's no different from law and his moves are pretty wonky the only thing that is good about him is his slide mix up. T8 Shaheen is all about his slide mix up which was never his own thing. Like what I said Law is all about getting in and Lee is all about the mid range then there's Shaheen who stole Lee slide so that he can be called "Unique" but play no differently from Law..
Shaheen got better in this game! He's my number 2. His ss2 can create lots of mix ups. Yes, he's not super exciting, but he's not a broken asshole like King or Draganov either.

Right on bro, I feel also Harada has done terrible job advertising him as he does well with characters such as Nina Williams.
People like to pic characters that look like themselves... So for the Arab community he is a good pic... But unfortunately in order to be a boss with him it takes a serious level of tech..
So they put him in over some of the other characters because nobody would buy him as a dlc. Harada is just blowing hot air.
idk shaheen is more of a background character than josie/ katarina/ and whoever else was the add on to tekken 7
As of right now I'm running into more Pandas or Kumas than I am Shaheen. So I feel he definitely died of of people's interest. But on the same token, yes you do have to consider representing different countries, I'm all for that. I'm still surprised that Eddy was the only dlc character released when tekken 7 released 3 or 4. Anna for example should have already been released.

Shaheen needs more spice. Gameplay he needs something crazy to put in that competitive edge. Story bamco needs to more serious with his story and make a way more important figure in the overall story/tekken universe. The Boy is way too B L A N D for my taste, and again, he needs more spice and favor to his character.
He needs more moves and better ones he feels weak to me I no u can make characters. Work but he’s a bit boring to use and feels slow

i dont like Shaheen, in tekke n7 if Law is rushdown slide, Lee defensive slide then shaheen is both but dont excel at anything so he boring asf but in tekken 8 he just another Law rushdown sliding character he doesnt have any character defining move..he just stole the OG slide but didnt became his own thing like Lee..
His character defining move is ff3. The cool surfing animation ender and it also can switch sides if you use it before screw. That's one of the most unique tools in the game. Makes him dangerous when near walls on both sides.
@@David-ws6do I see, that's fare they also gave him that annoying 2D jump and a lot of moves to give him unseeable crouch setup that some are plus but he still bland some of his moves are just a cheap copy of other character moves, his playstyle's no different from law and his moves are pretty wonky the only thing that is good about him is his slide mix up. T8 Shaheen is all about his slide mix up which was never his own thing. Like what I said Law is all about getting in and Lee is all about the mid range then there's Shaheen who stole Lee slide so that he can be called "Unique" but play no differently from Law..
Shaheen got better in this game! He's my number 2. His ss2 can create lots of mix ups. Yes, he's not super exciting, but he's not a broken asshole like King or Draganov either.
