From 17.3 to 17.4 the battery life on my new iPhone 13 has gotten absolutely terrible. And I heard 17.5 was even worse than that… I won’t be updating unfortunately
Battery life is much better after updating to 17.5 in my case. Previously, it was 15% per hour in idle, and now it operates like it did during the first few months. I thought, It couldn't get any worse! :D so I updated it and now it works well.
I don't know how Apple manages to put iOS through months of beta only to finally release it with bugs and fix them just a few days later! What’s the whole point then? 🤦🏾♂️

@@mathieuschmitt5289 It’s a pretty recent phenomenon, it started with iOS 16 and so on. iOS is very messy these days, I think it’s time for a big overhaul from UI to system side. Tim, if you see this, it’s time to Cook.
Its possible the bug was so rare that no one noticed it with the smaller sample sizes in a beta. Its likely that it required a full rollout with tens of millions of people installing it for anyone to actually experience the glitch and also notice it.
My 15 Pro Max sometimes just stars overheating like CRAZY out of nowhere even though I’m not really doing anything, just sitting on social media with no background apps open. It just stars overheating really fast out of nowhere for no apparent reason. This has happened twice since the 17.5 update and I had to turn off my phone and put it on the fridge! It got REAAALLY hot and for what? Posting a comment on Tik Tok and scrolling through Instagram? Is anyone else having this issue?
The only issue I have been noticing is after updating to iPadOS 17.5, bluetooth would randomly become "unavailable" and disconnect from my headphones. Go back into settings and bluetooth is "unclickable" and says unavailable. Only way to fix is to reboot. Hoping 17.5.1 will fix this, as it's happening somewhat regularly (3x in the last 12 hours).
Attention aware feature not working either on iOS 17.5 or 17.5.1 on iPhone 14 Pro. Alarms, calls etc won’t lower the ring volume once you look at the screen as it used to on previous iOS versions.
It's amazing how people were twisting information to make it sound like it was more problematic than it actually is. There were so many people claiming it happened to them with other devices or devices they sold and so on, but we need to remember this is the internet, and many people are spiteful, and they will invent lies and twist the context for any extra virtual points they can get.
I think the option was turn off by default. You can go to the settings of the specific workout on the watch and activate the option. I read that it was the solution if I’m not wrong though.
The title says “everyone is wrong” and then the video just says “some people” are wrong. If photos reapear after being deleted then it is a privacy concern, even if its just a bug rather than foul play. Its sounds like the reindexing just bought the problem to light rather than being the cause of the problem.
Apple really needs to get their ship together, there’s the standby issue, there’s the volume issue, there’s the Wi-Fi issue, the pictures coming back out of nowhere issue, plus the alarm issue, what is up with Apple and 17?

mine was even though I turn my volume all the way down yet when I check it again the volume still on with a very low (sometimes still high) volume this happen when using control center
On every iOS17 device I've checked, whenever you have media volume raised and you try to slightly turn it down to minimum by one quick slide down gesture, volume bar reflects and jumps to some random value
I had a similar problem where when I would add a photo I found on internet by holding it and pressing « add to gallery » it sometimes would not add it and would only appear after an iOS update ! It is mostly with heavy pictures (over 50Mb)… Maybe it is another re-indexing issue but if you have a solution that could help me not having to wait for an ios update to see the photos I downloaded I would be glad !
Since I updated to 17.5 my app library was all over the place all my apps were sorted to the “Other” category. Now with this 17.5.1 update the problem was fixed and my apps are organized as usual. Just thought i will mention it in case anyone had the same problem.
Instead I lost few videos from my photos app and I cannot see them in the recently deleted album. It’s definitely less than 30 days whle those videos are gone. Is there any way I can get those deleted videos back?

After this update my attention aware doesn’t work anymore. When I look at my phone, the ringer and alarms stay so loud. Any idea when they’ll fix this? I went from 17.4.? to 17.5.1. Thank you.

I had a photo bug, but it wasn't deleted photos reappearing. I had 7 RAW images I took back in October that all the sudden decided they were taken recently and moved to the front of my recent photos. I took other photos that weren't RAW that day, and those were unchanged.
So Apple doesn’t really delete all copies of the picture if you use the photo app. But I’m pretty sure that’s what people think they’re doing . So this bug exposed a design flaw and the fix just fixes the bug while leaving the design flaw intact.
This update still hasn’t fixed my Apple Music saying I’ve paused music in my control centre and draining my battery when I haven’t played music… any advise anyone?? At this rate I’ll just delete the app until they fix it

So, do they really store the photos and videos twice in two different locations: in the files app AND in the photos app? This would double the memory consumption for photos and videos on the device. Or is the photo app only storing references to the photos and videos in the files app? This would make totally sense concerning memory consumption and database corruption. And btw when syncing the photos and videos to the iCloud which source would be used: the files app or the photos app? And what about the device's backup in the iCloud? Doesn't this all lead to the conclusion that deleted photos where sent to the iCloud nevertheless?
I also own an Android and I think yes, they do store another copy in your files and it's stored in a hidden folder named ".thumbnail" [you can show hidden folders in the File Manager settings app] which is usually located inside the folder where the photos/videos are stored but they are of low quality but still recognizable (that consumes less than an mb) and it should also be deleted when the original photo/video is deleted. This is still a privacy concern though, I don't know why these apple fans keep on defending the wrongdoings of this company
Idk about this not being a privacy concern, of course it is! If I permanently deleted a picture, say of my credit card, then months later, knowing there are no private pictures on there, gave my phone to someone to check out some vacation photos or something, they were taking a look and voila, they find my credit card. Now that person could be reasonable and just swipe away, or they could type it somewhere real quick, send it to themselves then delete the message, or any number of things they could do. You can overlay this situation to any private photos you potentially could have, it's not a rare situation either to be showing someone some old photos of yours. So yes, it is a privacy concern, and an unacceptable bug.
@@BrandonButch I think you mentioned something very important in the video when you explained this, that this was someone claiming to be working for a private contractor of apple's, and to take this theory with a grain of salt. Why would apple state in the update that this was a database corruption issue and not simply files being indexed from the files app into the photos app? Especially since the second explanation absolves them of a lot of privacy concerns, unless.. it's not actually correct, or at least not as simple as just all photos in files copying over to the photos app.
@@amrabdelaziz9320 The corruption happened during the re-indexing of the files. Also this person on Reddit posted this before the update was released and it matched up almost exactly with what he was describing.. so seems true on all fronts.
@@BrandonButch Again, apple's own explanation doesn't say anything about that, and if it was just files being copied over, their own update wouldn't say: "photos that were deleted could reappear", they'd have said "photos that were saved on files app can appear in photos app", you're basing your whole explanation on a non-confirmed reddit post that kinda seems like it matches, until we have direct statements from apple that say this is the case then it's really not. Even in your non-confirmed case, again, let's say I'm showing someone photos from the photos app and some private pictures that were supposed to be deleted show up, that's a privacy concern, even if the photos are stored on the files app. And it doesn't even make sense, apple apps are containerized, they're separated and are only accessible from other apps if you use the share button and then select to save to the other app, it doesn't make sense or sound very secure that the app can do this by itself, even if it's the update script, because that defeats the whole purpose of apps being separated apple does it, hence why I don't even think that's what happened. It's way more likely that there was a problem with deleting photos in old versions, that they were just deleted from the indexing database but the files weren't cleared, maybe that only happened under certain circumstances so no one suspected anything since storage problems didn't happen, and then on this update photos were re-discovered for some reason and those re-appeared, not some separate app sending them back to this app because it was saved from there! And in both scenarios, like I showed it is a privacy concern, if I permanently deleted something from the photos app it is expected to be gone forever unless I manually add it there, even if I had it saved on files.
I don't trust that this was not some sort of saving somewhere else. I do computer work and forensic work and restoring of data lost. No way can a simple update bring back photos completely deleted long ago..
i have no issue with 17.5 no problem with battery no with photos everything ok the problem? is (if i can name it as a problem) that the new wallpaper pride does not change when you move from lock screen to home screen(as you the experts tell us on your videos before apple release 17.5) remain steady i have iphone 15 who knows what happens anyway we all waiting for the magor update as rumors says for IOS 18... keep what are you doing bro you do it just fine...

I even had a bunch of strange grey photos appear after the IOS 17.5 update which were seemingly corrupted as they had no names and had no size.
How could Apple let this even be released. I mean come on. The fact that it was released with this “major” issue in my opinion looks bad for Apple.

So I went ahead and deleted my old pictures and videos and checked in find out if they reappear turns out it’s fixed and I’m glad Apple did fix it 😂

Some other corruption happened here 2m ago and 99% of my Keynote slides disappeared..

And btw when syncing the photos and videos to the iCloud which source would be used: the files app or the photos app? And what about the device's backup in the iCloud? Doesn't this all lead to the conclusion that deleted photos where sent to the iCloud nevertheless?
I also own an Android and I think yes, they do store another copy in your files and it's stored in a hidden folder named ".thumbnail" [you can show hidden folders in the File Manager settings app] which is usually located inside the folder where the photos/videos are stored but they are of low quality but still recognizable (that consumes less than an mb) and it should also be deleted when the original photo/video is deleted.
This is still a privacy concern though, I don't know why these apple fans keep on defending the wrongdoings of this company
Idk about this not being a privacy concern, of course it is! If I permanently deleted a picture, say of my credit card, then months later, knowing there are no private pictures on there, gave my phone to someone to check out some vacation photos or something, they were taking a look and voila, they find my credit card.
Now that person could be reasonable and just swipe away, or they could type it somewhere real quick, send it to themselves then delete the message, or any number of things they could do.
You can overlay this situation to any private photos you potentially could have, it's not a rare situation either to be showing someone some old photos of yours. So yes, it is a privacy concern, and an unacceptable bug.
You need to rewatch the video to understand how this works. Files and Photos are unrelated applications.

I think you mentioned something very important in the video when you explained this, that this was someone claiming to be working for a private contractor of apple's, and to take this theory with a grain of salt.
Why would apple state in the update that this was a database corruption issue and not simply files being indexed from the files app into the photos app? Especially since the second explanation absolves them of a lot of privacy concerns, unless.. it's not actually correct, or at least not as simple as just all photos in files copying over to the photos app.

Also this person on Reddit posted this before the update was released and it matched up almost exactly with what he was describing.. so seems true on all fronts.

Again, apple's own explanation doesn't say anything about that, and if it was just files being copied over, their own update wouldn't say: "photos that were deleted could reappear", they'd have said "photos that were saved on files app can appear in photos app", you're basing your whole explanation on a non-confirmed reddit post that kinda seems like it matches, until we have direct statements from apple that say this is the case then it's really not.
Even in your non-confirmed case, again, let's say I'm showing someone photos from the photos app and some private pictures that were supposed to be deleted show up, that's a privacy concern, even if the photos are stored on the files app.
And it doesn't even make sense, apple apps are containerized, they're separated and are only accessible from other apps if you use the share button and then select to save to the other app, it doesn't make sense or sound very secure that the app can do this by itself, even if it's the update script, because that defeats the whole purpose of apps being separated apple does it, hence why I don't even think that's what happened.
It's way more likely that there was a problem with deleting photos in old versions, that they were just deleted from the indexing database but the files weren't cleared, maybe that only happened under certain circumstances so no one suspected anything since storage problems didn't happen, and then on this update photos were re-discovered for some reason and those re-appeared, not some separate app sending them back to this app because it was saved from there!
And in both scenarios, like I showed it is a privacy concern, if I permanently deleted something from the photos app it is expected to be gone forever unless I manually add it there, even if I had it saved on files.
My Photos App still crashes every time I want to open it on my iPad Pro 4th generation….this release did not resolve it…
I don't trust that this was not some sort of saving somewhere else. I do computer work and forensic work and restoring of data lost. No way can a simple update bring back photos completely deleted long ago..

i have no issue with 17.5 no problem with battery no with photos everything ok the problem? is (if i can name it as a problem) that the new wallpaper pride does not change when you move from lock screen to home screen(as you the experts tell us on your videos before apple release 17.5) remain steady i have iphone 15 who knows what happens anyway we all waiting for the magor update as rumors says for IOS 18... keep what are you doing bro you do it just fine...

It’s not just on device stuff. Old iCloud synced photos also appear in the photos app
Doesn't make a difference if saved to iCloud or not.. if they were saved to Files, they have a chance to reappear due to the bug
