I'm thrilled to hear that a kit for the older diesels is being developed. My 1974 240d has a problem with its pump and the car isn't getting fuel. Nor is it allowing the primer pump to function properly.

Just watched your Electronic Ignition Conversion clip and I just want to add that these 1960's, 70's Mercedes Benz engines were the best ever. I think it is possible to also convert them to Electronic Fuel Injection - either single point for 4 cyl engines or twin point or multipoint. Most of the parts are already there in the early K and L Jetronic systems, just need a few inputs and its own computer processor.

If you have a Dodge CTD, the problem is even worse. It uses the same kind of in tank electric lift pump in gasoline engines. If that pump fails, it might not immediately be visible. Unfortunately, it destroys the distributor pump and that is expensive. One solution people came up with is a fuel pressure sensor in the fuel line from the fuel tank. An alarm would go off so you could shut down immediately and save your distributor pump.

I’m starting to think my euro 84 300d non turbo might have a replaced injection pump, I have the two bolt lift pump on my car and I was going to replace the hand primer pump but I can’t get it without taking the lift pump off. I’m thinking of doing this soon as my hand primer pump sprays diesel everywhere when it needs to be used
