    So.. what product is this?

    Tony is an amazing guy, great gear but far too expensive for the average dj. There is an abundance of offerings from many other manufacturers that are cheaper and do the job very well.
    That featured setup looks very dated, even if it sounds great. Clients don't really care what equipment you have however great it is and sounds. As a dj, clients are more concerned about your reliability, experience and the cost of your service.

      Well for around £1500 for the 18" sub in this video, its not terribly expensive considering the quality of product you're getting. 2nd hand I've seen them even cheaper. If I was a mobile DJ, I would fall into "the average DJ" category as you put it. But I would still definitely save up my pennies to buy myself some super high quality speakers and subs such as these F1's.

      Respectfully, I'm not really sure who your clients are, but I can say with absolute certainty that the people I work with are highly interested in the the specifications as well as the performance of the Soundsystem and the quality of the audio overall.
      Different strokes for different folks, I suppose! You keep doing you tho, boo!

      You have to recognize that most like to have control over the amps they use etc. They used to offer active versions, and they did not sell at all.
      Why would one want all the hassle of pulling both line level cabling as well as msins? A bother in itself never mind the issues of noise with long signal runs.
      I can drive 4 Evo6/7 along with 4 F124 boxes on single Powersoft X8 on a 32Ah 400V plug. One long Speakon 8 and two speakon 4 as sub links for the whole thing. I find it hard to get it much easier than that.
      I can also bring an extra amp for redundancy. My biggest gripe with self-powered speakers is this. If the amp goes down, you're pretty much fucked. No thanks.

    Any active speakers from funktion-one?

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Luckily no. Using the right amps, you can drive a lot of speakers from a tiny rack.

      @@AB-80X Why luckily? A lot of people want simplicity and build in power. And yes. There is onne powered sub with two satellites output. SB210A

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikelo303 Because generally speaking, most self powered speakers use mediocre amplifiers and processors at best.
      I personally like using F1 because I can use what ever amp I want and a processor of my own choice.
      Also, when doing a self powered speaker, you need to run both a power cord as well as a long line level lead which is very susceptible to noise and hum.
      With a small passive system, you can run a four lead speakon cable to the speaker from a simple two unit rack with a small four channel DSP amp or the like. So the whole idea that it's simplified, is a bit of a moot point really.

      @@AB-80X lol......they can hand select the amps...make it active, they already cost an arm and a leg....useless to a modern mobile dj.
