I have this neat life hack that protects me from shark attacks ”if there’s a possibility of shark(s) being in the water i’d be swimming in, swim elsewhere”
I turned 38 in June. I can’t remember a year I haven’t watched #sharkweek. I absolutely love and look forward to #sharkweek every year. I’ve always liked Forrest’s shows bc they are different than the usual shark species (white, tiger, bull, hammerhead, & mako). Thank you for making & sharing!
I live in the Indian River Lagoon area and have taken water treatment courses. They “partially treat” (partially chlorinate) sewage and pipe it into the ocean/waterways. No joke. I can’t believe that’s legal.
Australian here and always think it's weird when people from other countries think it's so dangerous here. We have to worry about spiders and snakes on land and the usual stuff in the water. There's no wolves, bears, big cats etc.
Honestly, I think it has to do with the size of your deadly critters. On paper, North America has some gnarly beasties, but they're all large and generally in their own environment. Whereas, when you take a cursory few of Australia's dangerous things they're relatively small, and for some, too close for comfort. I do agree though, it's a tired meme.
I always keep my wave+ because it was the last gift from my brother before he went down the deep end of narcissism, and I went no contact, so it's at least a minor reminder of who I thought he was before I was old enough to see who he is and a reminder that he could at one point of time be a decent person.
Glad I got a chance to catch this right on time!! Great shark week show. I will be going to New Smyrna Beach and Cocoa Beach in 2 weeks! Let's hope I don't get bitten lol 😅
Crazy I live close to South Padre Island. On the 4th we had multiple attacks over a few hours. Most of the community was making Jaws jokes. Luckily everyone survived and is in stable condition. But a lady did get most of her calf taken off.
Forrest, I’m looking to learn more about mutualistic relationships between species in nature. Would you have any book recommendations about this topic? Thanks! Love the pod!
My family has had condos at ocean trail Jupiter Florida right next to the inlet and every year it’s a quest to see which show & what episode they film there.
Those “sand crabs” are actually marine arthropods (ocean dwelling wood lice, “rolly-polys”.) We have them in the northeast but they’re much smaller. They get quite large in Florida.
To be fair, Florida protects ALOT of its ecosystem and has many "no build" zones. Everglades excluded. Even I own 8 acres and 3 of those acres are protected marsh land that i cannot build on or cut down. They do fly overs every year and take pictures to make sure no one is tearing down/building anything. Kind of a pain because i should do what i want with property i own, but i understand and respect it.
Watching a hammerhead here in florida chase blacktip or spinner sharks is absolutely insane in shallow water I shark fish down here and I've seen some insane things hammerhead sharks do
Fun Fact: New Smyrna Beach and Cocoa Beach in Florida are only 65 miles apart! Those bull sharks set up a "Have you tasted human? Free Samples available year round! Fish extra fast this year? Give a surfer a nibble and see if you like the other white meat today!" weird eats thing.
I think they all won in the Shark Battle Royale. Patrick won overall with the fastest and stealthiest shark for the sharks battling one another. Peter won if it was a Battle Royale for overall Shark supremacy in the food chain to create an apex predator. Then Forrest won if its for Shark longevity because I'm imagining a giant land shark that can reverse vacuum suck creatures on land in for both food and battle by pulling them into its saw-sword face. Pure carnage and decimation of eco-systems
Did the Echidna fall out of a tree or something? ( Still rolling on the floor laughing ) Sometimes I think you need to look up the basic info on the animal in question. They don't climb tree... but they do an awesome job of becoming part of a cars seat when people 'Save them ' ... oh I wonder what those claws are for...
Anyone know of any whale sightings off southwest coast of Florida? I’d love to see some!! I grew up in New England and whale watched in Maine was amazing- but now I’d like to see some Down here
Australia's scary BECAUSE it's a first world country and tourists are dying. Africa is 3rd world, so as a tourist, you almost expect it so tourists plan extra safety. But you don't expect to die from a primal predator in a first world country, especially near a populated area, so tourists come in unprepared and uneducated. (Referencing about 50 mins in.)
a white shark sized euryhaline goblin shark snapping its massive and gross fucking head at you in a misty lake would be absolutely terrifying. rare peter draft win. pat’s shark would absolutely decimate anything in the ocean it wanted to though. an ambush predator that can tail speedboats and crush turtle shells is a violation of nature and LETHAL. im high this message went on too long. LOVE THE POD THOUGH MUCH LOVE🫶
Heeeey love from Volusia! Born and raised! Love the show! I build docks and get my shit wet with the sharks and manatees everyday! Lol take it easy fellas 🍻🍻
Great episode, loved all of it! Retap gets my vote, if i met that fucking thing in the ocean, id never go back in. But fresh water WTF dude. This one goes to Retap 100%

Sharks belong in the water. People are the infestation. Title should be 'Shark-inhabited' not infested.
Shark experts: No need to fear sharks. Just don't behave like prey.
Tiger shark: I just ate a rock.
Tiger*
@@tobiasedwards2643 Bull*
@@Coyote_Bongwater69 they were talking about tiger sharks when they said that.
@@tobiasedwards2643 Thank you. Joke edited 🙏

Love the behind the scenes info on shark week!! Story is hilarious
Glad you enjoyed it!

I've been saying this for years lol and not to mention the density of snakes is a lot less than the usa
“If you poop, go to Montana immediately.” 😂

I'm so sorry. I'm glad you're in a good place.
You talked about having cats. I have a turbo cat he is the dominant pet over a pack of Mastiffs.
My papillon and cats rule over the 3 Dobermans.
Peter smashed this Battle Royale
Yeaaaaaa 💪💪💪
I really wished when you looked up animals/insects, whatever and put it on the screen , you’d leave them up a lot longer on the screen. lol
Japan, famously named the land of the rising sun...
Forrest: "it's like Japan is constantly in sunset, I dunno..."
Glad I got a chance to catch this right on time!! Great shark week show. I will be going to New Smyrna Beach and Cocoa Beach in 2 weeks! Let's hope I don't get bitten lol 😅
I live near NSB it’s usually safe and they’re smaller sharks normally
I'd love to go there...just for a chance to see a shark in the wild 🦈
W pod guys, love watching these to drink my coffee and get warmed up on the game
Hell ya!
I was at a beach surrounded by sharks.
They all wanted 20% of my business for $100,000.
even as an Australian.. i was like A TIGER SHARK ATE WHAT!?!
"Shark infested beaches/water" is as redundant as saying "people infested land"
Surgi's prize money is going on his fines for cutting that fence when they find him lol
🤣🤣👏
Wish the episodes were longer
Anyone else smoke and listen to their pod? Definitely a Vibe 💯

Always a great pod!
Thanks for another episode ! Just discovered this pod cast you guys are great
Thanks for listening
For real. Threw my back out and can’t make it to my job today, feeling guilty and terrible af. You guys are helping me relax for a minute. Thank you ❤
Feel better!
This is the most dad thing I've ever heard
Hey bro why feel guilty and terrible over that you're honestly hurt and need to get better, if you did it on purpose that's different but you didn't
lived in bishop for a few years worked at one of the hostels such an awesome town!
I wish they kept his shark joke!! Haha 😂❤
as a former 10 year old boy, we do love shark week

I’m mind blown the first thing on Shark News wasn’t the single shark attacking 4 people down in Texas on the 4th! Craziness down here in South Padre
I live in volusia county if you ever saw a camera of new smyrna beach above the water there is 1000s its amazing theres only that many attacks

the issue is they aren’t protecting the areas they need to
As a Floridian i could've guessed where we were on the list
Definitely need a Fatman show!

Retep ftw! I mean cmon, a goblin shark lunging bite on a great white! Won't even need to go into fresh water.
Australia is a 1st world country, yes, but we treat our first people like 3rd world persons.
Just started watching Ghost sharks of Japan, and they have kept the leech section in our version.
I think they all won in the Shark Battle Royale.

You can watch sharks with surfers in nsb, fl
I love strange, rare sharks. Did my honeymoon diving in the Galapagos with sharks.
Love the show
Love you! 😘😘
Queensland Australia is also called the Sunshine State
The shark STD joke is in the episode, I saw when you pulled off the leech and threw it to the side.
Just watched that OZ show. I remember when Discovery was actually educational and entertaining. lol
Once I hit age 10 I looked forward to shark week every year
We here for the boys
I'm saying Pat and Fatman for the win. I would go Hammerhead for the head, Basking shark for the body and Porbeagle for the speed.
Love sharks 🦈
I saw retep lost weight the second I saw him. Good job bro!
Warms my heart. Brosteners are the best 💕
As an Australian Mr Forest we are not scared of everything
😂😂😂
If south Carolina is surprising you've never been to dirty Myrtle😂

Whale shark body, great white head, and mako speed
Battle royal idea
Inventions that can help you when you out in the field
Cookie cutter head, mako body, the sharks that can go on land ability - he took mako so I choose hammerhead body
Anyone know of any whale sightings off southwest coast of Florida? I’d love to see some!! I grew up in New England and whale watched in Maine was amazing- but now I’d like to see some
