Running Diary 26th October 2024 - Rebuilding mileage and first run with Garmin Forerunner 965

- It's my first running diary for a while, I've been slowly recovering from IT Band Syndrome in my left leg, thought it would be a bit boring to constantly be uploading "yet another 5km, leg still slightly sore"!
However I'm now gradually building my distance back up, in 4 week training blocks. I'm currently in week 3 of 8km, twice a week. Another 2 runs at this distance and then stepping up to 11km for 4 weeks; I full expect it to be a bit sore for the first couple of weeks.
Progress is slow but steady.
Something else that's new is I've bought a Garmin Forerunner 965, as an upgrade for my Garmin Instinct Solar 2. I love the Instinct Solar, it's been robust and the battery life is phenomenal. However I've been keen to get my hands on the more advanced, running specific features of the 965.
This is my first run with it, so I'm still getting used to all the data and working out what is useful to me, but I've included a side-by-side comparison of the data available in Garmin Connect for a run using the Instinct Solar and today's run using the 965.
So far, so impressed!

Thank you so much! I really love where we live, the combination of water, woodland and farmland is amazing, there are loads of little paths for running. It's been one of the biggest frustrations of being injured, not spending the time on the long runs just travelling through this countryside.
