  • I designed and installed a 200 Watt off-grid solar power system that powers my garage. This is Part 1, showing the installation of the racking system on the roof.
The parts I used in this video:

how many quick bolts come in a pack on your website, I really just need 8, how much would that cost?

@@Moes_Prep_and_Tech They come 25 in a pack. I have some left over from my project, and wouldn't mind selling you 8. Let me know your email and I'll reach out to you to arrange.

great start on your solar system. about 2 years ago i started a project to get my garage off grid and i started with 200w with 2 95ah lead acid battery's and a 1000w inverter. I got the bug bad and now have 1.6kw in panels 6 100ah lithium battery's and a 3k inverter. It takes a lot to get thru a Montana winter with your own energy but my garage is now an off grid hobby workshop. Enjoy your journey.

I imagine you also have to deal with snow on the panels! I don't here in So Cal. Thanks for subscribing!

Great job on both the install AND the video!.... What's the angle on yours? If I wanted a 10 degree angle, do you think it would be possible to put a 4 X 4 piece of wood under the front legs to give it the angle I'm looking for? .... Then anchor the wood down and not the front legs because the front legs will be mounted to the wood. Make sense?

Hi there, thanks for watching my video! I have mine at 19 degrees. I suppose you could do the 4x4 blocks, are you saying you would do that without buying the tilt rack supports, or getting the tilt supports and then adding the 4x4 block for the front to elevate the front? Or don't bother with the tilt mounts, and just get flat roof mounts and add the 4x4 to the rear of the rack? You could do this if you space the mounts around 30" front to back (but check the math using one of those rise/pitch/angle calculators online).
