The word creativity is too small for you. I started watching your videos a little while ago, and thanks to you I have understood many things. Thank you.
Hello ! Thank you very much for your excellent training. I am one of your fans from Iran. I would like to ask you to enable the Persian captions, so that we Iranians can understand your explanations well. Thank you 🙌❤️
We do! We have some videos on designing characters with Scott Flanders in our Monsterlab course: th-cam.com/video/KdEoaTu8D38/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i3dhhoRciuoS1Pf5 And some more with Knight Zhang. Here's on designing costumes: th-cam.com/video/CjiKlLE3NuI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fpYil7Os2d0PkQwO
Totally understandable. If you do never find yourself in the market for one, there are some very cost effective options from companies like Huion and XP Pen. It doesn't need to be the most expensive, new or huge option. Great art is made on even the oldest Bamboo Fun tablets.

Waaaay too many layers man :( The file will be mpossible to send on e mail, and if you have a FLAT COLOR layer, yo can crop selections from that one witout having to make that much chaos in the layers panel.
John's a working professional artist. Some workflows don't seem practical outside of certain fields but usually have a basis in the requirements/pipeline of those professions. For personal work, you should definitely flatten every once in a while and lock in work, rather than pushing things around endlessly and relying on editability to feel safe in the image choices you're making. But if you're in a field where an art director or someone else is going to have very specific notes or requirements for a later project, having these different things built-in can be a necessity.
Hey guys, does anyone feel hopeless with the rise of AI? More and more features come out each day with computers being able to generate things in seconds that i used to work hours on.. and it's only getting worse for artists, even non digital ones. Free art!! Free features!!! It's free because the product is us. We're being studied and replaced. Auto colorizing black and white pictures is another feature..
A lot of people feel the same way you do and that's totally understandable. Art and being a creative has changed many times! New things come along and make some paths less viable. But the creativity and ingenuity that's behind your creativity doesn't go away. As always, artists just need to find our place in the current environment. It can be scary but your unique ideas and your individual voice have a place. Whatever it looks like in the future, human touched art will always be better, whether it feels like it during the spookiest AI times. Keep honing your skills and knowledge of art/design principles.
@@frederickwarrick1294 Respectfully, we disagree. We're fully with you that we should respect the hard work that goes into making art. That's absolutely true! But the hardest part of art is learning the concepts, combining them and utilizing them to express your vision. People who make art traditionally and digitally both have that same, special knowledge and skill set, hard-earned through study and practice. Drawing an arbitrary line between which mediums get our respect is a fool's errand. There will always be someone else who thinks that what they do requires more effort and more grit than what you do. Classical artists went out and gathered materials to hand-make their own art tools, pigments for painting and more. But they don't deserve to be called artists more than you, who probably purchases the majority of the traditional materials you use. We respect artists for being artists. Whether that's you getting your hands dirty, a digital artist using a stylus for hours on end, or anyone else in between. It's all about the expression and the skill put into it.
Is it necessary to start off with grayscale in order to the colors in a painting to work? This method confuses me, when searching for information about coloring this is always shown but i dont like it 🫠 i feel there must be another way
There are a LOT of other ways to color a painting. You can just work right into color from the start, even. But this is one method people like using because it allows you to make a piece with good and consistent value, lights and darks, before worrying about color. For this technique, you do need to have the black and white worked in first, as it's what gives depth to what are essentially flat colors you're putting in. For some, this process doesn't work with how they think of and approach art. And that's okay!
