lol I played for like 20 hours to get to this part and after I spawned to this level I ran to the darkness but the torches didn't light and I suddenly died. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

wickerbottom... 3 days (REAL ONE) days playing adventure mode. MY first adventure mode... oh my, yesterday at night... i finally after dying in darkness once (thanks touchstone!) did it to epilogue, i heard that song who i used to like far away and follow it... all my effort, ALL the time spent with that arrogant poor librarian (the only character which i could conquer ruins AND survived 169 days down there)... i survived 1889 days on surface with her, really i don't remind how much in caves, 100something? (i stop entering there because it was a stupid bug i luckily could evade)... all that time playing as her, to be betrayed on this terrific way? :-( i couldn't sleep thinking about that... i'm so sorry Mrs. wickerbottom, i didn't mean it... i feel really bad about yourself. silly me!
I loved watching this series and hope you continue making more Don't Starve videos soon. Your sense of humor is awesome (I was laughing so hard at the Wes part) and I really enjoy listening to your voice as well.
Why didn't I rewatch this? Spent over 300 days in a span of 8 actual real days doing this, had to starve while holding a life amulet 3 times in the last bit, then i assembled the device only to realise i left the damm rod ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP TO KILL A PIG, and I feel ya brother I hate killing those porky fellas but the time I put in i had to. Well I actually lowered and raised my sanity enough to cross back over the obelosks and grab the rod, scaring my neighbors with my screaming of "WHY?" and "FUCK SPIDERS!" through the paper thin walls of my den. Mrs. Shebelski still can't make eye contact with me when I wave to her as I leave for work in the mornings. Then I Fell victim to a blue mushroom trap with tentacles but still made it to the machine, clinging on to bout 12 hp. Used my ice wand to freeze a knight and then it asked me to insert my items, (Maxwell's machine, not the robot horse) and thinking it was over I was so confused and unprepared i never even saw the end. I can still hear the saueaky creak that followed the sound of shattering of ice as the knight broke free and rammed his head up my butthole, into my soul. Never attempted it again, now i just play fortnite while dribbling applesauce on myself, a mere shell of my former self. If you read that rant, I hope you read it in your head in your famous "old man of terrified whispers" voice. its my favorite, and damn you really tore through this great vid

Maxwell's speech dialog mentions 'them'. And he also started when the place was nothing but dust and void, and that he 'built' the world as you see now. Then says 'a king is bound to the board' meaning as a result of getting power, he's stuck there for all eternity.
this was lovely, was hooked to your playthrough and watched all of them in a go ... i'm basically real life wes when playing this game, so this was rather fun
if u go to the right corner of the nightmare trone u can use the machine that u find in adventure mode to go to the next world it will teleport u back to maxwell and he will ask to you if u think he havent tried that

I'd imagine Wolfgang has all the powers Maxwell had since he took his place... But seeing how Maxwell himself doesn't seem to lose sanity he would probably not have to deal with the hands.
when I was in epilogue,the Maxwell ligths werent there and Charlie (the asshole)killed me.But I took a mod that unlocks all the characters(of course from Steam)
i might be wrong, but i highly doubt it there are some moments (not in this one, but in the earlier chapters) where he speeds up the ingame play but still talking with normal speed
from maxwells throne if you go north east somewhat there is another keyhole but you need a miners hat to get there and it just teleports you back to maxwell with him saying they wont allow it :T
what would of made the don't starve experience with Maxwell even better would of been that should you make it all the way to the Epilogue instead of it being another Maxwell you instead see Charlie in her human form that would explain the back story as to how Maxwell became bound to that dreaded chair of nightmares.

Somehow this is possible although if there was no time at all everything would happen instantaneously and would render this ever happening impossible, maybe Wilson was insane in the first place and everything to ever exist in the Don't Starve game never really happened or possibly Maxwell was wrong and what he meant by an eternity was actually him just losing track of time and was an over-exaggeration and he just simply lost track of time. Until the Don't Starve team releases more backstory no theory can really ever be proven so you might as well assume what is in the game.

I mean since hes been there for like an internity he must of gotten sick of being there and decided to torture those who fell into this trap
If you really think about it; life in the Don't Starve universe wouldn't really be all that bad if you used your head. The story says that after maxwell was freed and Wilson (or insert other character you played) replaced him on the throne, Charlie releases him from the throne and takes it for herself but isn't bound to it. Then it shows maxwell and Wilson meeting up and using their brainpower together to construct the new portal that brings in the other characters (thus creating "dont starve together"). In this case they have a bunch of friends to help, in which case they can just continue progressing into a "3500 day mega-base" like some players end up, where they have more food than they know what to do with, and can just laze around having fun all day since they have pseudo-pig-cities , houndius shootius etc... to wipe out any hounds or whatever that come by. You could just farm your infinitely respawning Volt Goat herds, harvest manure to keep dozens of farms running etc.. and use honey farms and Electric Milk etc.. to create Ice Cream, Taffee, Pumpkin Cookies etc... Hell the only thing you WOULDN'T have that you had in the real world in the year 1910 is other people to communicate with (other than your 10 friends stuck in there with you) and a few technological devices. I mean shit, eventually you'd just have a GIGANTIC castle/palace/mansion thing all 10 of you could live in with a dozen turrets and pigmen/beefalo etc.. to kill anything that comes within 100 feet of the place, all kinds of farms and such like mentioned above inside the place. You'd never have to leave the building lol!
for some reason, i expected maxwell to be the villain and you would have to fight him. i kind of wish there would have been a final boss rather than just putting a key in a hole and an evil throne instantly getting destroyed. it would have been cooler if you actually had to fight the throne. an evil chair as the final boss, may seem lame, but it would still be cool to at least get a final boss

I broke the Maxwell statue various times in multiple worlds and haven't unlocked Wes. Did it change in RoG or a normal update?
yeah, in the third world you get a setpiece with wes trapped, you gotta break all the statues there, kill all the clockworks, and he will be unlocked

Well, unless you go through the entire adventure mode AGAIN. It will switch with what ever character you beat the previous adventure mode with.

Alastor Fate i think its a good idea. Kirby had a giant flying boat as a boss once, so a chair seems fine to me.
