  • This hike starts just south of Tenaya Lake along Highway 120 in the Tuolumne Meadows area at the Sunrise Lakes Trailhead. This hike was just over 13 miles round trip, and I did 6 miles barefoot. Clouds Rest sits at 10,000 feet in elevation offering you one of the best 360 degree views in all of Yosemite. Subscribe to ‪@theyosemiteguyd‬ to keep up on all my hiking adventures. Much Love! :)

    Path in magnificent nature (I often think that some sections are postcard-like) and the Pheasant are unique encounters.. 💪👍😉

    One of my favorite hikes! Just did it on August 27 of this year. Thanks for the video - great visuals, no unneeded music.

      Mine as well. I appreciate you. Just started making videos this year so theres definitely room for improvement but I'm having fun doing it. If i add music i was thinking I could use the eye of the tiger song when I reach a summit. That might be cool. :D. Thx man!

    Majestic views in every direction. 10.000 feet is way up and the narrow ridge gave me a little vertigo. Nice of you to guide those younger guys on such an outstanding trek. Plus feeding them. I hope they carried most of the provisions. Your always superior images and editing keep me returning for more. Don't want these to end with summer. Love to see the season change

      Thank you for going along with me! Yea, the guys were good company. They actually drove, so I cooked them lunch 😊 I hope I can get at least 3 or 4 more good ones in before the weather changes.

    Fantastic views! I like that you do these hikes because there is no way I could do this one. I love the boulders up there!
    I used to grow habenaro peppers, I paid a guy 5 bucks to eat one, and watched his head explode, then throw up. The best 5 bucks ever spent 😅

    epic hike (again). Awesome views. Oh, so Tim and I have been wondering, do you hike barefoot cause you feel more in touch with nature that way?

    • @theyosemiteguyd
      @theyosemiteguyd  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d say that’s a benefit but not necessarily the reason. It’s more of a challenging myself thing and almost an emotional outlet in a weird way. I do like the way it feels though. :)

    Gorgrous scenery, thanks for sharing it! May i ask why you hike barefooted?

      It has to be the right type of trail but I like the way it feels. It gives me sort of an emotional outlet in a weird way. :)

    What a great video! Thank you:) I want to break up this hike with camping. What’s the best campsite on this trail and camping add much more mileage up to clouds rest from the camp sight? Love the feet 👣

      Sunrise lakes breaks off of this trail halfway up and would be a really cool place to camp. There’s 3 lakes up there that are really pretty. :)

    Is the drive to the parking area for sunrise lakes trailhead pretty long? I’ll be coming from Oakhurst so trying to gauge it. My GPS is reading a 5hr drive but not sure if it’s right

    • @theyosemiteguyd
      @theyosemiteguyd  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From oakhurst it’s about 2 1/2 hour drive to that trailhead but the road to access sunrise is closed in the winter so GPS is probably tripping right now. When are you planning on doing this one? It’s a really awesome hike.

    I may have asked this before but what little camera and tripod are you using in the trail?

    • @theyosemiteguyd

      I use a Gopro11 black for all my videos with a GoRad selfie stick. Been having battery problems recently but i just ordered some new ones so hopefully that fixes my problems. But the Gopro has worked pretty well for me.
