Also that Neanderthal record is pivotal for west coast Powerviolence. So many bands were influenced by them and Eric wood the bass player is basically the father of the genre.
This is such a great idea and should happen more often. Love hearing what ppl like Pat enjoy and hearing history lessons on hardcore. He also seems like such a swell sincere guy. Thanks Pat and Run for Cover for putting this out. :)
I know Alex is mad busy, but this is the content that made me fall in love with RFC. Wish we were able to get more of the old series. Anyway, can't wait for the Fury LP. Gonna be insane.
Movie music vol 1 is their best record imo it’s great 100% recommend. I think that one of my hottest takes is that movie music vol 1 is infinitely better than frame and canvas
Duuuuuuuuuude. So glad you dig Samiam! One of my “Top 3 Favorite Albums of All-Time” is definitely Astray. I can see the influence in regards to Fiddlehead.👍
I really hope you guys keep these videos coming again. These, Tuesdays with Tay, and the gear talk videos (not to mention the bledfeast videos) are what introduced me to rfc and it really sucked to see you guys stop posting that kind of stuff. Hope you guys get back into doing these kinds of videos.
Gemma Thomas Al doesn’t work at RFC anymore, that’s why TWT is gone. Dane said they tried to keep filming it on their own, but they said it just wasn’t the same without Al, so they just ended it.
@@misanthropist3 have heart played the largest hc show in history. Putting aside their influence in the scene that alone would merit being called a legend. Also this is my personal opinion but Songs to Scream at the Sun is a 10/10 record
bruh i didnt knew he was in have heart untill i finished the video and read the comments i just went WOAH, showed my dad fiddlehead and he listens to them in a basis since then, im trutly glad i watched this
This guy teaches at my high school, and we hear him screaming from our classrooms. It's pretty funny to hear that all the time, but it does get distracting sometimes.
Wow, I want that Slayer Live Undead framed poster. Looks like its from the day too. Nice. Your significant other has good taste by the way. Neanderthal rules!!
I also disagree with your Dag Nasty choice. I like Four On The Floor better than both those albums. Growing up in the D.C./Maryland/Richmond scenes, melodic music is a major part of that sound. Always has been. That's where my love for melodic music came from. Dag Nasty matured and took on that sound. Hell, even your band is heavily inspired by Fugazi. I can hear it in the riffing.
this guy is a history teacher at my high school lmao
You better be listening to his music, man
i flew out in 2009 to see him perform in Boston from CA. Have Heart. so dope
You better listen to Have Heart!
your history teacher is cool as fuck
@@fajarputranto6410 hehehe
More interviews with Pat Flynn please, the actual goat
Def wasn't expecting his high school girlfriend to answer him at 3:46 haha
*holds up Minor Threat*
"GOAT."
It’s so refreshing seeing Pat again
Ikr. I listened a lot to have heart in high school.
With the things we carrrrryyyyyyy
Record Selection with Pat Flynn (Fiddlehead) (Have Heart) (Free) (Sweet Jesus) (Clear) (Wolf Whistle)
So cool that he pulled that end of year record. They opened up the only have heart show I ever went to in 2009
Also that Neanderthal record is pivotal for west coast Powerviolence. So many bands were influenced by them and Eric wood the bass player is basically the father of the genre.
Glad this series didn't die out!

chaoticfirearm fury is putting out another l.p.???
Yeah dude, they just announced signing with RFC. LP number 2 in fall of this year
Fury record is awesome right? Lol
don't you just love watching people buy and talk about records around in record stores ugh
Have Heart was THE band for me when I was in high school and early college. Makes sense that Pat has great taste.
you can find so many amazing bands you've never heard of from videos like these
Scott Raynor these are the videos to watch with a note pad handy
Have Heart "What Counts" EP still my all-time fave from them.
Pat Flynn, you are a legend sir! :) Fully enjoyed this one!
Give Patrick Kindlon $50 to go shopping at Whole Foods
I like this comment a lot
this seriously needs to happen
😂
im a kindlon
I went to this record store last year when I went to see have heart in Massachusetts. Amazing.
97a! Thank you. Finally some love for that band
I peep the Scottish Punk band Last Rites, I'd cop that .
I just listened to that braid album. Still good. 2022
Movie music vol 1 is their best record imo it’s great 100% recommend. I think that one of my hottest takes is that movie music vol 1 is infinitely better than frame and canvas
So glad this came back, and with a great individual.
end of a year
pre-COVID year Mr. Flynn hits just as hard
Duuuuuuuuuude. So glad you dig Samiam! One of my “Top 3 Favorite Albums of All-Time” is definitely Astray. I can see the influence in regards to Fiddlehead.👍
When I first heart Fiddlehead I immediately thought of Samiam. Also I hear a lot of Hot Water Music in some of their songs.

Watching this, in Columbia Maryland!!!
Keep these coming for sure.
Bring back Tuesdays with tay
go to school
Zoe Thomas this is much more important than school

mirraco323 he doesn’t? How come?
RCScorch I don’t think it was a falling out or anything, I think he just got a different job.
Yall have to bring back this video series
Saw the thumbnail of the gg record had to watch
bring this back !!!!!!!
He's like a retired hardcore legend
Definitely not retired yet
javier perez pretty much. Fiddlehead isn’t hardcore and have heart was just a reunion show.
@@rootsgrassusa To my knowledge Free is still going at it strong!
Legend? We throw that word around freely these days I guess.

Los crudos! Crazy finding there
Would of definitely picked that one up if I were him.
Pat's great. Time to listen to some podcasts.
Never in my mind thought Pat Flynn would like "A Boy Named Goo"
neanderthal/belle and sebastian split 7"
I love this record shop, such a wild black metal selection lmao
I met Walter Schriefels about 7 months ago, at a cave in concert. Really, really nice guy
bruh i didnt knew he was in have heart untill i finished the video and read the comments i just went WOAH, showed my dad fiddlehead and he listens to them in a basis since then, im trutly glad i watched this
Pat is the best dude
Im glad he talked about tons of records, cause 50 bucks wont buy shit
That gg record is really good music before he lost it. And its extremely rare
Ben Kingsley's portrayal of Gandhi was awesome though...
Thanks pat
3:46 mom's disapointed face
cool fact the one and only time I saw have heart was in 2009 with End of year in Chicago
This guy teaches at my high school, and we hear him screaming from our classrooms. It's pretty funny to hear that all the time, but it does get distracting sometimes.
You made me laugh Pat Flynn from Fiddlehead.
Tone it down, we all know his other bands.
G.O.A.T
yes!!!
crimpshrine will definitely one of the heavy hitters in this series
1:41 VERY GOOD TAKE
Im on board with the spicy Dag Nasty takes.
miss you band dude
Wow, I want that Slayer Live Undead framed poster. Looks like its from the day too. Nice.

I thought he was in Fiddlehead, the early 90s emo band
y'missed Suicide File sticking right out :( @8:30
Speaking of Goo Goo Dolls, 'Superstar Carwash' is a great record.
Thats one soothing voice. Does he do a hardcore podcast?
Anyone know the name of the jacket he’s wearing
4:46 😂…was that really necessary?!
No mention on that Suicide File record missed opportunity.
This was sick
I had no idea Pat Flynn lived in Columbia Maryland
97a was underrated
My life is complete
Watch me rise!
I wonder is Pat the singer?
gear talk please!!!
🐐
Still love crimpshrine
He's trynna support the scene on that one
97A super underrated fast hardcore band
Not underrated, those in the know know what's up.
