I love seeing Guthrie kill the game. Seems like Guthrie feels very blessed to be part of Hans's mastery, and clearly Hans is overjoyed to have Guthrie there.
He is the goat, I’ve heard them all people. For 35 years I’ve studied music. I’ve heard every guitarist there is from all genres… I’ve never ever ever seen anything like Guthrie. I will legitimately cry the day he passes away.
Was blessed to see Govan live in Nashville. You cannot put into words what he does. Just stop trying and just believe! Greatness needs no explanation...it just needs recognition!!
Not just random stunt-guitarist, but a complete musician with an awesome taste. Rather hard to keep a solo that interesting and still keeping the style of the track....
Guy in red pants is a nuisance and should FO. Guthrie is awesome as always. Saw a clinic of his and he was funny as hell and sounds like Sean Connery when he speak ! TY GG !
Whatever….. I mean he’s OK……. I’m pretty sure this is on 78 speed. No really my great grandfather had this on vinyl. The original was on 33 speed. I don’t know kids these days………….jk!
If there were a longer segment of the concert and full pan back showing the stage you'd see that the percussionists who play at the front of the stage drop back and do that bit with the sticks when they aren't featured. The percussion section isn't any more or any less populated by black folks than the rest of the orchestra but the 40 or so total musicians are creamed from the best around the world and seem about as actually culturally diverse as any touring ensemble I can think of.
His solo on Steven Wilson's Drive Home tears my heart out every time. Such emotive wonderful sounds.
wow dude, that words at the end was so strong... i feel genuinely happy for Guthrie. Long life Guthrie!
I just love Hans Zimmer admiring him!!
Guthrie repeatedly tears your heart out and you beg for more. He's a living god.

The 12 year old kid that lives next door is better. There is always someone better.

GOAT ! Full stop !
There is no better.
A true maestro at work. Wow!🎉😮😊
Love Guthrie! Just an amazing player!

No words, just thinking how he is able to paint a different solo every time is something out of this world...
someone should start compiling these. Every one of them is a masterpiece and unique
Just a day at the office for Guthrie! What a player.
So brilliant, and the man just keeps getting better.
He's a guitar's legend!!!!
Remember, he’s using .011 gauge strings! 🫠
Guthrie is a cosmic entity. Total unlimited dominance over his instrument, like nobody's business
He wrote articles for Guitar Techniques Magazine that are well worth getting a hold of. Be sure to get the accompanying CD for the issue.
I learned Loch Rannoch many years ago as he did the translation for it in that magazine, song is from Brett Garsed and TJ Helmerich, cracking song :)
I see him every chance I get.
LOVE
Sensei Govan
God, Guitar, Guthrie - the holly trinity every guitarist believes in.
I mean, he's extraordinary, there's nothing else to say
They needed a flight deck officer to guide that jet out of there.
Guthrie glowes in the dark! 😱
So cool thanks for this! GG is about as close to supernatural as one can get
Guthrie needs his own cape!!!!! Geez!
Going into Uli Jon Roth mode from 1’05
I mean, it’s GUTHRIE.

Guthrie the White
Sound like Yngwie
Yeah, he was doing some Yngwie in there.

No one would be there without the bloke in the red trousers.
@HansZimmer
1:18 is obviously pre-recorded. But he also just sounds like Yngwie at that point. Anyway still 'if real' not bad...

whats up with the token black people hitting tubes together?

@@djmikio uh huh... ive seen other videos of it panned back. it's literally a dozen black people dramatically banging tubes over their heads.
He's a great player no doubt but sorry that solo sounds awful.
Unfortunately most of his solos sound the same way! An unquestionable talent but he doesn't pull me in musically.
