In regards to the 18th. Firstly what an amazing golf hole. Island green gorgeous. John's shot that went "Out of Bounds", is dead. Dropping and playing from where he played that shot would have been the correct thing to do. 1st shot: Off the tee 2nd shot: Out of Bounds 3rd shot: Drop 4th shot: Into the water hazard 5th shot: Drop in front of hazard Assuming from here. 6th shot: On to the green 7th & 8th shots: Two putts 😁👍 Brilliant channel guys, loving the video's.
Seeing as you can’t get out and about a video on your cobra clubs and how the fitting went would be a nice bit of content, especially from a “Bad Golfer” perspective. A lot of high handicappers are possibly put off going for a fitting and it can really help your game.
enjoying the content guys, John a tip for where to position the ball on the Tee when you Tee off is to place the ball on the side you don't want to go near - on hole 8 you would have been better teeing up near the left hand tee marker and aiming middle ight, doing this opens up the hole to the side you want to hit to and closes the other side. Obviously you can still hit it OOB but it makes it harder to do, this was a tip (i think) by your best friend Rick.

Silvermere is my local course and range. There is nothing better than sitting in the bar with a pint watching people try and hit the 18th green. My favourite miss is when people overshoot it by 20 yards and bounce off the shed roof. There is no hiding from the noise it makes.

Used to be a member at silvermere. There is nothing worse than having a perfectly good round ruined by the 17th & 18th. Especially if everyone is watching from the beer garden in the summer!
You should try some proper links courses in Ireland, I highly recommend Portsalon in Donegal, fantastic course, stunning scenery and friendly members. You two would love it.
Just to clarify the rules re OOB's.....John hit his 2nd out of bounds, he can drop back in play with a stroke and distance penalty so 2 more shots, meaning he chipped short with his 5th, chipped on with his 6th and putted in for his 7th. Also the hole where John put his drive in the trees and played a provisional, it wasn't made clear what his provi was to his playing partner (I always use a green ball as my provi so there's no mistakes) and whether the ball he played was his original or 2nd ball as we didn't see him pick up his provisional ball, I'm assuming it was his first ball cos he played his 2nd and won the hole.........
Only if a "Local Rule" is in play and it must not be used in a "Qualifying" round of golf. As John and Alex, play changing their handicaps, Shot & Distance can not be used.
Going OOB is not a 2 shot penalty. He had options! However... Some clubs may have a local rule which allows players to drop at the nearest point of relief where the ball went out of bounds.. if the club does not have this local rule in place he must rehit from the original shot and adds 1 shot penalty

A quick question do you take your clubs with you when you are touring, so that you can play games at different courses around the country or do you not have time with travel in between gigs or getting back home? Looking forward to more videos when this is all over
Silvermere is a great course in the summer but does get very wet in the winter the drainage is not that good, i have played it many times but the last two holes are a bit special.love the vid

Genuine question as I'm not very knowledgeable on golf handicaps. With Alex winning the previous rounds by having shots on John fairly easily and John winning this round with shots on Alex fairly comfortably - shouldn't they just go back to playing each other without either having an advantage in handicap as surely that would even things out? Rather than whoever wins the previous round being at a disadvantage in the next due to their changing handicap?
Joss Lambert to be honest John is by far the better player with a much better swing so Alex should NEVER be giving him shots. John has a terrible attitude and Alex did beat him a few times but really Alex just plodded to his standard and John beat himself by trying shots above his ability and beating himself up after every bad shot. I'm afraid John can't handle being beaten by a lesser player so will crave shots on Alex for as long as possible!! At worst they should be playing off level but I always think that at the current playing standards John should be giving Alex at least 3 shots a round. Alex has definitely improved over the time of these videos and we'll see if his new clubs improve his distance.
Glenn Braiden John’s anguish is my favourite bit of these videos I must say and Alex tip accommodating him like a toddler - if they played off even I think it would be fair otherwise it’ll just be tit for tat in terms of wins for whoever has the favourable handicap - love it when Alex wins though - gotta love an underdog story !!
@@glennbraiden3310 Alex played outrageously well at the start of the year and got a huge 6 shot cut over 2 rounds. His biggest difference was making putts - went from 3 putts to 2 or 1 putt and the shots fell away. That and he finds the fairway off the tee with much more regularity than John this year. As you say, when John is in front he plays steady golf, when behind he tends to chase a little bit and gets himself into trouble. On the swing comparison, John makes a more complete swing compared to Alex's much shorter backswing but we all know that the bit that makes the difference is how the club goes forward and through the ball. Alex seems to connect very cleanly and has a more repeatable swing. Like Alex I hit a shorter distance than I used to with a shorter swing but I swing a straight, repeatable swing and put the ball where I'd like more often than not. #StatMan
John inadvertently came up with a great tag line for the channel. Bad Golf... it's better than nothing! Something that we're all painfully aware of at the moment.

You can now drop from Out of bounds, new rule, to speed up play but it is 2 shot penalty and not one, as John took.

Better putting…but have thought about renaming the show “Bad Golf….Courses”? In the US, I wouldn’t pay more than $5 to play there.
Repair those pitch marks! If everyone repairs their own pitch mark and one other, you end up with lovely greens.
