      You see it prostitution.
      But it is not.
In today's era you call it live-in relationships.
But islam made it a legal contract with set boundaries to protect interests of both parties.
And the foremost thing required fpr this relationship is fulfilling pre-requisite terms and conditions.
If woman is unmarried ,then consent of guardian of both boy and girl.
If woman is married, then it is impermissible.
If woman is widowed then her consent is required , which is valid after waiting period is over.
This temporary marriage system helps us to protect marriage system.

There is a lot of Difference between prostitution and mutah
Prostitution is way of finding physical pleasure.
Mutah is way of finding spiritual, emotional, mental peace without getting into physical relationship.
God made man and woman as a partner to each other so that one supports other one in hardships and share happiness with one another.
In prostitution, if a child is born , then it has no future.
But in mutah , if a child is born , then that child enjoys all rights which a child from permanent marriage enjoys.
Mutah helps us to stay away from sinful acts. It helps to find company in legal ways and find peace in life.
After all human being is a social animal. We can't live alone at all times. We need some one to share our thoughts and feelings with.

I am a shia Muslim and I completely disagree with this practice. I tried too hard to understand but just cannot make any sense out of it. Mutah appears to be a platform to promote women abuse. In the end he says don't blame Mutah if a guy breaks a girl's heart or vice versa. Blame the person. How is it possible that a man and a woman are involved in a temporary marriage and spend days and nights together with physical intimacy - basically sharing your soul with each other and then not fall in love?? Will it not lead to a heartbreak after the contract is over?? Would you marry a girl who has had Mutah relationships in the past??
Why encourage such a practice that can lead to disaster in so many ways??

Muta is haram and a bad practice, it should not be held accountability, it should be vanished. by any means necessary. Engaging with such act and conduct. it is mesmerizing, according to my own perspectives and opinion this should not be by default. why should any girl feel in a certain way, this causes break ups, sorrow and vulnerable. why should any cheap man use this ideology just to fulfil his desire upon a temporary moment of time. no girl is cheap, neither dumb nor prostitution.

"Muta is considered haram and condemned as a harmful practice by many. It should not be condoned or tolerated, but rather abolished through any necessary means. Engaging in such conduct is deeply troubling, and in my view, it should not be normalized.
Why should any woman be subjected to feelings of vulnerability and exploitation? This practice often leads to heartbreak, sorrow, and leaves individuals feeling exploited. It's unacceptable for anyone to manipulate this ideology solely for their temporary desires. No woman deserves to be treated as cheap, foolish, or as a means for gratification.
In summary, muta undermines the dignity and respect of individuals involved and should be actively discouraged and eliminated from societal norms."

So if she's a virgin, you gotta make sure that she is not taken advantage of. However, if she is not a virgin anymore (divorced, widowed etc.) she does not have to be protected as much? Imagine if she is a single mother, does she not need even MORE protection, because she is taking care of her kids all by herself? And kids born out of Mut'a have little chances of growing up in a traditional family. This creates broken homes and broken existences!
Islam protects the rights of all women, there is no first class or second class of women. Mut'a serves the man's interests; where is the gain for a woman? It's a degradation for her to not be a valued enough to be a permanent wife, but "only" good enough for temporary marriage. It is demeaning and in a roundabout way prostitution, because why would a woman consent to this, if not for the money? It is exploiting someone who needs to do this to make a living. The explanation of which Ayah supposedly justifies Mut'a sounds weak to me and too much room for human interpretation.

Way to make a leap to try and make a point that you can’t prove anyway. Nobody said that non-virgin women were second class. You’re assuming this based on your own prejudice against the concept.
There’s guardianship approval is required because it’s within the legal framework of Islam. Widowed/Non divorced women are given more freedom because of them having experience with what sort of commitment it takes to be married, temporary or permanent. Stop projecting your opinions in an attempt to make a point that has no logical ground.

Sunnis usually make divorcees 2nd or 3rd or 4th wives, you will very rarely see a man marrying a first wife and putting all his energy in a divorcee. Second of all where does it say that Mut'ah does not protect the wife? When you are in a Mut'ah marriage it is the husbands obligation to provide and protect her temporary wife during the time period she is with her. 2nd wife, 3rd wife, 4th wife or Mut'ah partner whether you like it or not a divorcee with kids will have troubles becoming first and only wife to a single man. Some women may prefer to be in a Mut'ah contract with one man than being a 3rd wife.

I have no problems with the concept of mut'ah marriage. Every marriage is temporary because life is temporary. But i see a lot of problems with any kind of marriage without witnesses. If that happens...who can prove that the actual marriage took place? It could be the word of the man against the word of the woman. What if she says that he didn't give her a dowry? What if she says that he forced her to have sexual intercourse without consent? How to know who is telling the truth??? This seems quite absurd.

There's never any guarantee that Nikah will be permanent, divorces happen, people move on, marry again. And let's not forget that in Nikah there's also a "wage" (Dowry) and in case of divorce, the consolatory wage and alimony.
So you see my friend, if you want to call Mutah as "legalizing prostitution", then Nikah won't escape from this label either. Why nullifying something that Prophet (saww) has kept as legit and valid and only the 2nd Kalifa nullified it based on his own preference.

It is a basic part of the human physiology and when it is not quenched, it wither gets worse and you fornicate, masturbate to adult content (especially today) or practice deviant acts. This is a band aid solution that the two caliphs practiced and all muslims at the time of the Prophet UNTIL Umar (ra) forbid it.

The whole style of the documentary and how both the presenter and the person being interviewed is very similar to a regular and familiar documentaries. However they present the documentary in an historical context and attempt to academize it giving it a sense of 'fact' trying to disguise it as something it is not, respectability and ethical. However no attempt can disguise that it is about religionising prostitution. All marriages are contracts, but Muta like prostitution have something very much in commom which regular marriages do not have, and that is the 'time or temporary' nature of the contract and that it is a contract where the main purpose of Muta is 'sexual pleasure'. The presenter sounds like 'Ragu' who reads channel 4 news and presents many other documentaries. He is far too intelligent to think this Muta is actually 'a marriage' and not prostitution, but on second thoughts he is a muslim after all.
Regular marriage contract because of its very nature does not have a 'time or temporary clause because it is not temporary, this contract is not temporary legally. To suggest that Muta is actually 'a marriage' is ridiculous which is what this documentary is proporting. Prostitution by any other name wheather it be Muta or some other name is still prosititution. It is prostitution masquaranding as marriage, by its very nature of being temporary as with any prostitute on the street corner or a high class prostitute or escort exclusive or not it is still prostitution. The contract sets out the parameters of the ' marriage contract' the time period of temporary - from what date to what date and its ending or disolution of the contract. It could be for a few hours , a day, weeks, months or years and money is exchanged accordingly to how much its worth. That is exactley what normal prostitutes contract is, with tge exception tgey don't call it marriagem which is more truthful and not hypocritical like muta. Prostitution via Muta is still prostitution, that is what it is prostitution, no matter how you cut the cake. Marriage or no marriage in any society except shia muslims where any temporary marriage arrangement between a man and a woman is prostitution by another name in other societies it is still called prostitution. Prostitution by any other name is still prostitution.

It is a valid and moral option for all Muslims. It's in the Quran that means it is allowed until we meet our partners in paradise. Any Muslim who claims muttah marriage is not allowed or not moral is basically saying and believing that they are better smarter and have better morals than Allah Almighty himself. That's ridiculous and not only egocentric but those people are hypocrites. Muttah marriage is an option for Muslims to avoid Zina and other sexually immoral behavior. Muttah marriage is private and Muslims have no right to judge other Muslims marriages. Muttah marriage was never abrogated because it's in the Quran. Muttah marriage was good enough for Muhammad's people but not us? That's also a ridiculous and hypocritical argument. It's lawful marriage for all times.

As a Twelver Shia, I except Mutha. However, I think there is too much focus on young people in our communities. I consider them to be fully grown adults and not teenagers. Mutha is a wonderful gift for people of all ages. I am in the third category as a mature person with no marriage or relationship experience. My reasons are related to Asperger's Syndrome. It just means that I think a little differently than the conventional society. Society is based on human capital, created to produce a massive power system that drives the economy, etc. As an Asperger, I think a little differently, because my mind processes sensory information unlike most people in society like differently wired brains or computer software systems. For this reason, I have struggled to fit into society or find a marriage partner or make friends all my life but with mutha my life is looking sweet and rosy. Nice documentary. I thought the ending was sweet and melancholic.

Also how any woman was able to prove that the kids belonged to a particular guy if the Mutah marriage was done in secrecy and if the guy denied it? Granted there are DNA tests now, but how degrading for the women. I think something went terribly wrong in translation, because anything that can cause such severe harm is haram.
