I wish people wouldn't be so aversed to using mvci X moveset as the "base" or goal to reach similar to how thanos and cpt marvel mods are
If this is just a Work in Progress moveset, then I'd love to see it get worked on until the references are on point, but if this is the final product, then it's definitely unacceptable.

I was majorly disappointed X did not use shoryuken as a base for the ryuenjin move, it's basically a Magma Dragoon reference and as we all now that move itself is a reference to the shoryuken, X also used it in X3 or X2 if I remember correctly

I know they only had limited resources, but why does his moveset contain moves that look absolutely nothing like anything he does in the games?
The only actual references are the Magnetic Shockwave from MvC, Charge Shot, Hadouken and what seems to be Boomerang Kwuanger's weapon.
Damn. Even Cyclops, DMC1 Dante and Psylocke got treated better.

2:06 + any other times he uses the Z-Saber - Reference to X6 where X has it as a weapon.
2:20 - Stretching this one, but could be a reference to the Charged variation of Thunder Triad from X3, which causes X to punch the ground, shaking the screen and shoot out 2 electric orbs on both sides. Instead of punching the ground here though, he just punches the enemy.
2:57 - Sonic Slicer, a weapon from X2. Works differently here of course cause of limited resources/assets.
3:00 - Electric Spark from X1
3:03 - Storm Tornado from X1
3:17 - Honestly not sure. The closest I can even think of is Rolling Shield since it's just a small orb being thrown. I thought of Frost Shield from MvCI but this one doesn't have frost properties, but it could be that.
3:41 - Shadow Runner from X8 just because of how they behave. The attacks home in but if they don't hit their target after a certain point, they return to X. I was initially thinking this could have been Homing Torpedo, but Homing Torpedo doesn't return to X.
3:46 - Frost Tower. You can see a variation of this as his Assist @ 6:02
3:50 - Chameleon Sting, specifically it's Maverick Hunter X variant since you can aim it upwards/downwards in that version, and this one has the 3 shots in an upward angle.
3:56 - Boomerang Cutter, but we knew that.
5:11 - A double whammy. Rising Fire from X4 (Clearly referencing the use of it MvCI), while also being Magma Blade from X6 (Swinging a Z-Saber imbued in flames). Can obviously just be the X4 reference with the Z-Saber use being cause of animation, but it sounds cooler for a 2-in-1 reference.
5:45 - A reference to the Giga Attack from the X series, but combining it either Charged Electric Spark from Maverick Hunter X (based on description, I tried looking for it to see how it worked but no luck), or X7's Volt Tornado (A vortex of energy surrounding X).
@@AxelRyman for Sonic Slicer it could also be seen as a reference to how the Z-Saber worked in Mega Man X3 while also referencing the original weapon itself

@@AxelRyman You really need to squint your eyes to justify most of these.
The only other references that you pointed out that are valid would the the Z Sabre projectile (from X3) and Chameleon Sting which was oddly translated as the beams are colored green and don't do Electric damage in Megaman X. From what I've seen, the modders are able to re-color and modify elemental effects as needed, so this move doesn't get a pass because it was lazily referred.
I'll get to the rest in a bit.
@@AxelRyman Sonic Slicer : The move seen in the video isn't even Sonic Slicer. They just used that sound clip and slapped it onto the sword projectile animation that Zero uses.
Electric Spark: It has the spirit, but wrong color. The move uses purple lightning in MMX, not blue.
Storm Tornado: Also has the spirit, but looks absolutely nothing like the move. Storm Tornado is a single sideways tornado, not a series of smaller ones.
Charged Thunder Triad: Yeah, there's absolutely no reason for X to do a random Thunderpunch when they literally can use Zero's ground punch animation and add balls of electricity to the floor to convey the actual charged Thunder Triad.
Giga Crush: This one is interesting. They tried conveying the least known and least liked iteration of the move from X7 instead of the more known and iconic explosion from X2. The Giga Crush from X7 doesn't do Electric damage though, so it gets a half pass.
Charged Rising Fire: The spirit is there but not animation. X literally does A flaming Shoryuken in X4 to depict the move, not use the Z Sabre.
Shadow Runner: Has the spirit, but looks nothing like the weapon. Does Darkness damage and is black.
Frost Tower: The Ice Wave variation looks like nothing X does in any main games, but the Assist version barely looks like the move. In the games, X stretches his body and can use the move anywhere. It was never a ground-pound move.
I really hope the modders are looking to fix this mod.
Now to wait on the separation of these characters from just in costume slots so we can have Zero & X team up in a good fighting game.

Don't get me wrong love that u modded X in here! Hate the Lightning Storm hyper reminds me too much of Storm. Now my knowledge of X extends from X1 to X4 I do not recall him using that move.
Now I could be wrong and he used it in X5 up to X8 however. I feel like X has enough moves to use in place of that.
I'm aware X took the Z-Saber in X6 but did X really use Magma Dragoons Flaming Uppercut like Zero did in X4? Just seems like X has wayyy too many sword moves. Between the crouching sword attack, sword dive, Z-Saber projectile, and uppercut.
These critiques are of course meant with love. No disrespect. I'm glad someone at least tried to add X proper. These are just my personal perspective everyone is different. However I do feel strongly about these views.

Think of the Lightning Storm hyper as the Giga Attack combined with Charge Electric Spark, or the Volt Tornado from X7 (lightning vortex around X before it launches forward as a tornado).
Rising Fire likely did it cause of animations, but the charged variant in X4 did do a flaming uppercut. X6 did have Magma Blade, which has X swing the Z-Saber and shoot out Fireballs, so could think of it as a combo of both Rising Fire and Magma Blade.
X does that lightning storm attack in X2 when the chest armor receives enough damage.
@@foxxtail06 Yes. I mentioned the Giga Attack. X2's didn't have a lightning effect, just an explosion really. Hence why I mentioned Charged Electric Spar/Volt Tornado, for the lightning effect.

Basically a glorified Zero clone with a rapid-fire buster and some vague attempts to reference X's actual abilities.
I find it *extremely* hypocritical when people say his MVCI moveset doesn't fit him when the moveset modders cobbled together barely even looks like X. If I had the skills I'd pick up the slack and get his MVCI moveset working in under a day.
Also, why does he have the Magnetic Shockwave? Rock should have that, not X.
Not to be too critical, but I think this X is trying too much to emulate MVCI X which was already a poor representation of him. Boomerangs and aren't even one of his better weapons. He should have charged special weapons, like a Rising Fire uppercut, or a Frost Tower shield that persists like Eye of Agamato. Even a charged version of Electric Spark to make a grounded projectile climb a wall could be cool. All this "Normal is a stationary projectile!" is just kinda lame. Nothing really stands out other than, "forward moving projectile go brrr". Not a fan of this. I feel that the X mod could be so much more.
I like the mod and all but zero has a alt for x but for people who are saying he shouldn’t have a sword he actually does in x6
Thing is, his use of it was *VERY* limited (he couldn't combo or use any of Zero's techniques) and he returned it to Zero when you unlock him, he really shouldn't use the Z-Saber in his moveset since it's Zero's weapon.

X's Hadouken was an upgrade from X1, being a one shot kill
X can learn hadoken in the first game.
Some of X’s special weapons are not that far off from Arthur’s attacks.

Yea he does actually. He gets zero's saber on more than one occasion in the x series.

@@STON3D1_Stonks doesn't mean I want him to have half of zeros moveset. Hopefully the dev adjusts that to make a more accurate X. Not saying he shouldn't use the MMX6 sword at all just think it needs to be 2 moves tops.
X has too many good moves of his own to pass up. Both from Mavericks and him.

This mod would be cool if he didnt have storms super. Its so out of place.
Its great but he still feels a lot like zero cause of the saber (yes ik X6) but even there its super limited,i do love the L being the shot itself and it would be amazing if one of his supers put him in the ultimate armor
I like how the buster lets you spam shots and even mix in charged shots between normal shots, but I feel that the character still doesn't feel like how X should really fight, he still has many saber attacks which I understand its because it was Zero who was used as the base for the mod, but I feel that neither this or Infinite managed to capture the essence of X, because his playstyle should be a zoner trapper style, somewhat similar to how Solid Snake plays in Smash, where for Snake his arsenal gives him many options to dominate fights if you know what you're doing, and X should have a style like that too, since in his games he counters his enemies by using their weaknesses, and I feel one of his ultimate attacks should include the Ultimate Armor Nova Strike.
