I wonder if the Watcher will have some sort of time-travel mechanic, allowing it to visit all of the variants of Stormy Coast without it feeling disjointed. Some of the earlier promotional material depicted the Watcher with shimmering echo-like particles around them, so maybe this power will be facilitated by the echoes? Or perhaps the Watcher is somehow an echo itself, like Saint was in Downpour.

i genuinely adore the fact watcher is being presented via mysterious videos, hidden messages, and cryptic hints, it's so fucking cool and gets me incredibly excited to see how watcher actually turns out in game. they really seem to be emphasizing just how mysterious watcher is so i'm hyped as hell to see if/how that aspect ties in with their campaign/gameplay

I think i have an epiphany, or maybe its my sleep deprived brain speaking. What if the Watcher..is literally what it is? Look at the teaser image from the first trailer, it has echo golden flakes around it if you look close enough. The ripples look like void fluid without the golden highlights, and the ripples create circles within circles, the watcher looks like a drop moving through the cycles. Is the watcher an anomaly? An echo to travel to other cycles, or being able to see all of them at once and go to each one at will? Maybe the sneaking/stealth mechanic has deeper meaning than we know, it might even be a form of ghostly transport if you think about it. The possibility is there and the lore implications can even suggest the watcher will literally see all of the events that lead from the moment the ancients vanished to the cycle where everything erodes to time. A spectator of the unfolding of events, Slivers possible death, Pebbles' interrupted experiment live, the mysterious iterator that sent Rivulet...my expecations are staying reasonable, but the thought is exciting.

It seems that the world has now adapted to seasons like in real life, instead of it being constantly bright then rainy from the iterators,and sometimes a light sprinkle from after the rain. That’s a very Basic answer, but it’s probably wrong since we haven’t seen fall or summer (assuming the current all-cycle season is spring)
I havent gone through the entirety of stormy coast as each slug but the first time i explored it was as hunter and it had this sort of sprinkle going on. I dont know if the other slugs have foggy stormy coast but that might be extra evidence for the watching having some time related powers.

none of the SK modded critters are being added, the only ones that might be are the three lizard types in Aether ridge, but otherwise they don’t have the rights to those creatures, same with coral caves
To be honest the best thing about Stormy Coast when i first explored it was the fact that it rained everywhere, combined with the absolutely fitting threat theme. It would be a shame if the weather is split by parts of the map, so i hope that's not the case.
My 20-layers-of-tinfoil-hat theory is that the Watcher is invisible/invulnerable while they're standing still (or some other condition idk). Creatures in the first trailer don't pey attention to this slugcat and also it's literally invisible at the beginning of the trailer. This ability allows the watcher to stay in the rain and not die (it seems like the rain doesn't affect them at all). Also, they're named "the watcher", which implies some degree of separation from the thing that's being watched
In both watcher teasers hes looking right with a pipe to his left. In the reveal trailer they showed rot take over the screen so maybe he's running from rot which is consuming the world?
What if there just... isn't a timer? Your progression is on the line, and not sleeping could lead to more drastic setbacks. Maybe there *is* a weather system, and some types of weather may almost force sheltering due to danger levels. I'm excited for whatever it ends up being!

The rain in stormy coast doesn't kill until the end of the cycle (and it is constantly raining in hunter, gourm, surv, monk, and riv stormy coast. Spearmaster has foggy stormy coast, arti has sunny stormy coast, and saint has snowy stormy coast.)

Good observation... I think you may be right. The lighting causes the background objects to be drawn over the slugcat. Maybe this is just normal Rain World graphics, though?
(assuming the weather effect thing is real) what if when a lot of cycles are sunny (if thats even gonna be a thing) theres a chance for the next cycle to be very cold? kinda like a glacial thing.
