hey! sorry for the late response! I really recommend you to get at least 1 drawer system if you want a really stable desk. The saljan is pretty long desk! don't put only 4 legs, put 5 with 1 in the middle. If you put only 4 the desk can bend with time.😀

Hello! I honestly wish the gerton was just 5 inches longer! because in depth it is perfect! you can put whatever you want on the table and you still have room to put anything else. However, the saljan is fine! it has a good depth. Everything seems to be tighter but with enough room to fully move my arm when I'm playing Apex without hitting the keyboard or the PC case.

Hey! ok! you can get the saljan or the karlby (both particleboard) and cut it to makes it shorter, they come with extra laminate that you can glue in the end of the table, or you can get the MÅLSKYTT (particleboard) is 55" but just 23" depth. Also the ANFALLARE (bamboo). Do your research, I'm sure there is more. 😀

About 27 1/4, I got the oak effect too, but I wish my alex drawers are white instead of black, I think looks better on camera, anyways you choose the color that you like.

sorry for the very late reply ... I'm not using the saljan anymore. I'm using the gerton instead because is solid wood and doesn't need a middle leg. But the monitor arm doesn't damage the countertop, just don't tighten it too much.
Can the 2nd monitor arm linked in description handle a vertical 27inch monitor and a 32 horizontal curve monitor if so is this the monitor arm for me ? Hey there, have you had any issues with the desk collapsing because of the monitor clamp? My current Ikea desks have collapsed from the pressure the monitor clamps put on the edges. I'm hoping this brand is a little thicker.
With the ikea saljan, the gerton and the ekbacken no issues at all. But I used to have a ikea linnmon and yes the desk started to collapse because is pretty much hollow inside. If you want an ikea desk, do not buy the linnmom buy something else.

Hi, I just stick furniture pads on top of the drawer system and the table is just sitting on it. It doesn't move at all because the countertop is heavy.

Hi, yes can be a little wobbly with 2 legs on one side but not that crazy as 4 or 5 legs (I always recomend to put one more leg in the middle). But, what I did is that I put one Ikea Alex on each side and one leg in the middle and it desn't wobble anymore.
Hey! well I have only 2 weeks using the Saljan, I would say yes it is durable, is a particleboard very well done, I mean is not hollow by inside like the linnmon, this table is actually made for kitchen countertops and the laminate is very thick.

I have 3 of these tables for a U shaped desk. You will need a leg in the center to keep it from bending because the inside is particle board.

Haha, I'm alive! ... no, laminate countertops don't absorb the stain. I didn't do anything, I'm using the saljan as it came.

I cheked on Amazon and yes can handle up to 32" monitor. And yes, with 2 Alex Drawers is excellent.😀

Hey! well I have only 2 weeks using the Saljan, I would say yes it is durable, is a particleboard very well done, I mean is not hollow by inside like the linnmon, this table is actually made for kitchen countertops and the laminate is very thick.
Is there any wobble ? I have the same desk but not with Alex drawer and it wobbles :( thinking about replacing 2 legs for the drawer. Also did you just set the countertop on the drawer or screwed or Velcro it on etc? If not screwed or attached does it move around ? Thanks.
With the drawers the desk is pretty sturdy and I just put a piece of cloth between the desk and the drawer. 😀
What monitor mount do you recommend for a 27 inch monitor?
Look in to the spec of each monitor arm, pretty much every mount can hold up to 27" or 32". The one that I'm using is from the company WALI.

Hey! is a 27 inch monitor, with the saljan desk yes it feels very close, I'm actually thinking to buy a 24'' as my main gaming monitor!😄
