I figured out you have to aim low with the bombards when they are close. Sometimes even putting the crosshairs under the target to account for the big arc
I’ve put the distance measurement to constant on and noticed that the bombards range in the center blank area is around 300m and the next notch down is around 500m
I think the Dardanelles guns shoot be put on the Padewakang. I am currently running a pair on the Sambuk and while its nice and does oneshot some enemies - against bosses with high resist you need to play to your ships advantages and procs imho - so fire for Sambuk
Regarding the bimbard notches on the crosshairs. Point blank, the top notch needs to be under point of impact on ship. 200m top notch on poi. 300m center crosshair, 400m next lowest notch, 500, next notch etc. after u get to lowest notch (700m) u pretty much are out of range. Only way to go much behond that is to ride a wave just right and aim high and pray. But tbh, I've rarely engaged that far with bombard. At that point i just use twin winch.
Go into the ui customizer and turn on the features for the ships distance, status affects, and the icons for enemy ships very useful Notches for bombards very top: less than 100m middle openish area: 200 - 300m (top to bottom of open area First notch under open area: 300 - 350m Second notch: 400 - 450m Third notch: 450 - 500m Forth notch: 500 - 650m Roughly the distances per notch, these are my go to when using bombards
I think I know about the notches of the bombards. If you aim all the way up the lowest notch is at around horizon lvl, and it shoots around the same range as the mortar, wich is 600 meters. There are 6 notches so I think every notch is around 100 meters of range to shoot. But because your ship is constantly moving, this is just an approximate range.
I bought the twin winch balista first, then I bought the Black prince hull armour. Now im working on the 30K pieces of eight for the 500 sovereigns and that will put me back at 730 sovereigns allowing me to buy 2 of the Dardanelles guns. Cant wait. Nice video.
@joels1469 once you start acquiring manufacturies through the empire endgame system level them up closest to sainte-anne so that you can have a short run collecting your pieces of eight when they are ready. I still collect all of mine as I own all of the places.
@joels1469 I have a couple level 7 places for example that generate and store up to 800 pieces of eight each so thats 1,600 right there when they are done producing. Then I have some level 6's .
@isiahkipp6190 The twin winch balista I got was 400 sovereigns I think and the Black prince was 450 sovereigns or the other way around. But I quickly got to tier V in the weekly leaderboards getting all of those Sovereigns and I am currently working towards 30,000 pieces of eight earned in the seasonal leaderboards. At 10,000 earned you get like 350 sovereigns and at 20,000 earned you get like 450 sovereigns and at 30,000 ill get another 500 sovereigns.
So the advantage that made it better in this test is that they fire all at the same time, *but* can that not also be a disadvantage? Only played the beta, but sometimes it felt reasonable to fire a single shot to get a feel for the trajectory, before firing the rest to adjust them so they actually hit. If you fire the dardanelles and it misses, that's 4/4 missed, or one entire cooldown cycle, while with the normal bombards you will likely hit at least 3/4. So isnt this more of a "under ideal situations, pure dps in mind, dardanelles are the highest dps"?
Hey how did you have your settings so the Status Effects pop up? (For example torn sails or ablaze, etc.) I’m on PS5 and can’t figure it out unless it’s only on PC
Apparently you can get these dardanelles from the cutthroat treasurehunt, if your lucky enough to get it from the buried treasure, prolly some ridiculous drop rate through the cutthroat treasure map
I feel like they got a damage cap on the twin winch balista due to how low level everything is currently. I dont know if i did the math wrong but it should be hitting over 100k damage on a weakspot paired with one of the furnitures. Hopefully they raise it in the future with the addition of more difficult events.
I use the Dardanelles as my rear weapon, it's great for taking out people chasing you and taking out sails really quickly. When doing the pvp treasure map event, I have evaded a lot of people by taking out their sails with the Dardanelles.
I got the twin winched literally for people running away during PvP. Great for that. Need to get another set of Darnell’s but don’t see it as that much of an upgrade for PvP which is about the only thing I’m doing at this point
I think some of the issues with the missions being buggy is how packed the server is and how many people are trying to do the same thing you are. Like the roving resupply. There’s like 8 or more helm ships and you might think it’s not working because the first ship says you don’t have what they want. It’s kinda painful but in that case you have to try and sail close to each ship. The roving sale mission is the same way. I noticed two other things when the servers are busy there’s multiple hostile takeovers and the smuggling routes are highly contested with rouges. If you manage to get into a low population server the smuggling routes are nearly a breeze. I think they need to adjust the npc strength though. I have a level 11 ship with the 380 armor and against 4 ships I last like 20 seconds.
Im still learning a lot but is the end game/empire building thing even possible as a solo player? Can you do it without constant pvp battles? Would love an end game guide! Keep the awesome vids coming bro!
I've been playing solo throughout my gameplay, I'm on empire building thing now and i can assure you it's possible as a solo player. If you're talking about obtaining the Manufactories, then no you don't have to do the pvp takeover for them to be acquired. Just do the Legendary Heist and you'll be rewarded with a random Manufactory everytime.

normally you can do them without pvp, take a zone and try it. IF notbody joins then youre good to go. best of luck and hope that if someone does then you have over 50%. I got very lucky then. I got both the Black Prince armor hull and the Dardanelles from one legendary map chest from the cut throat event. Dardanelles shread ships and my fire bombards 3 aren't far behind.

Best I can tell, that'd be total DMG. It's got around 3-3.5k DMG per shot (I frgt exact amount). But coupled with all shots 3-4 (?) at once; would be somewhere in that 12k total range
Noice! I understand the point of having one side and front cannons, but arent there four cannons on side? So having both sides with Dardaneless would in theory help more? (if you manage to rotate fast enough)
Can you do a video on aiming / distance? You can turn on distance in the settings/interface options (custom). Would be a good video to see max ranges and how what section of the reticle you need to use at the different distances.
Yes for padewaking, but 4 Dard’s on Brig ship outclasses that build. Brig is a much more versatile ship overall and you get an extra cannon on the sides (4 instead of 3 on each side) and having 2 extra cannons does more damage then pad’s perk even when they’re ablaze. I know based on description the pad seems like the best option out of the 4 ships, but the brig has more health, more speed, and 2 extra cannons. You won’t turn back.
Brig has 1more furniture slot too I think? Imo: snow for attacking forts and sometimes boss fights(if there is no timer or healers), and brig for literally everything else. But I haven’t tried the sambuk yet. speed+firepower are king right now.
They should buff Culv a bit so the dps would be higher and bombard be for nukes, but we still not on endgame I guess we just have to wait, being going bombard since I compared them and the dmg difference kinda big.

What ^he said, but there is some personal preference as well if you have another weapon type you like. For pvp, I like putting long guns or ballista on the front to snipe peoples sails when chasing, and bombards on the sides and sail cutters of some sort on the back to slow people chasing me down. For pve, I usually run bombards on the front and some sort of cannons everywhere else cause cannonballs are so easy/cheap to aquire
Need to reach Kingpin rank. You will unlock all Black Market activities which earn you Pieces of Eight. To earn Sovereigns you need to keep collecting Pieces of Eight then you'll be rewarded at certain points. If you look at your Helm Empire board in your Helm office you can check the leader board and it will tell you how many Pieces of Eight you need to collect until you get a certain amount of Sovereigns
What I’m picking up from this is everyone is going to be using the Dardanelles Guns and nothing else. I love the game, but gear score was a poor choice of game mechanic just like in the Division games.
@@dangarcia1617 regarding PvP, it isn’t hard to hit the players with Bombards at all. Most locations are tight quartered so maneuvering around the damage circle is more difficult than it is to aim the bombards and that’s if the player wants to play the range game. A lot of the times, I just see people point blank with the bombards. All you have to do is aim at the water and the bombard will fire straight off the ship. As for your question on how to get them, you need the currency known as Sovereigns. In order to earn this currency you must generate a lot of Pieces of Eight, a different kind of currency. As you level up in the PoE rankings you earn Sovereigns for every new tier achieved. The Dardanelles Guns are bought from Yanita or her sister via the black market.

You can't compare siege weapons fairly because they deal MORE damage to the wall, where as everything else does damage equally. I'd need a ship to test it on instead but ships have armor values.
What's considered "rouge shit"? I can't seem to get away from the Rouges and I keep getting my butt kicked by them because there's always 6 of them attacking me at one time.
Somehting to note. I dont know the chances but you can get purple ship items that are sold at black market from doing the PvP legendary map event. I have gotten 1 of the purple bombard cannons from it so far.

Oh you think Van is bad? Wait until you have to do the lvl 12 bounty hunter quest in the open ocean. At a outpost that is surrounded by rocks. The target will start spinning and will start dumping a ♾️ amount of torpedoes and they hurt bad.

Eh, this game is too simple for those to hit big. For instance, the pvp meta for helm wager is to use a boarding build and camp the turn in spot. For the map thing it's bombards and movespeed loadouts. For PvE it's all bombards as well. It's super boring at the moment. Maybe if the game evolves and updates.

dardanelles is useless, it fires all canons at once and takes just as long to reload and by the time you need to shoot your enemy it is still reloading
What a low IQ take. You fire ALL FOUR guns at once and ALL FOUR GUNS are now reloading so you swivel your ship and fire more guns during the reload. If you fire cannons individually each individual cannon still has the same reload time, you're just doing damage at a slower rate.
@@biteuk if you can't get to the target area then yea. Im sure you will get killed and they nerfed it so the Brig is slower now during this event so other players can catch up to you. But overall its the best way to get items
Is the pieces of 8 thing only a pvp event? If it is then that is lame, as this game was supposed to have pve only servers and pvp servers. If it's only pvp for these pieces of 8 weapons then I wouldn't have bought the game.
Anyone else frustrated with this endgame? I still only have one factory. Haven’t seen any new hostile takeovers to do. The delivery missions are killing me it’s so boring. I feel like I’m not progressing
Hostile takeover should be happening ever half an hour? There’s pve events, hunts, plunder for materials, and you want to take the risk you can do the double or nothing PvP event.

Yes and if you see the red cycle on the enemy ship from your bombards you have a better view of your target👊🏻to make good damage

I got both my dards and a black prince armor in a cuthroat chests. I got a dard and BPA in one chest.

You can't compare siege weapons fairly because they deal MORE damage to the wall, where as everything else does damage equally. I'd need a ship to test it on instead but ships have armor values.

Somehting to note. I dont know the chances but you can get purple ship items that are sold at black market from doing the PvP legendary map event. I have gotten 1 of the purple bombard cannons from it so far.
I've done 20 and only received one so far.
@@SwoleBenji its luck based but it does drop all purple armor and weapons. I got the blue specter. Dardanelles gun and the better scurlock long guns and the black prince

I'm trying to get those bombard cannons but I never got my soverigns, I reached 20k score last night and still didn't get my soverigns.
It took me 12 hours till they showed up.

My problem is I can’t even beat van kinckel and I have a level 10 ship. They need to tone down boss health or maybe stop them from spamming mortars.
Oh you think Van is bad? Wait until you have to do the lvl 12 bounty hunter quest in the open ocean. At a outpost that is surrounded by rocks. The target will start spinning and will start dumping a ♾️ amount of torpedoes and they hurt bad.
Nice thing is you can just respawn at the outpost and repair your ship

@@JaK_Winter2099 actually that guy in outpost is easy thanks to those roks, just drive around rocks always keep one rock between u and boss and use ship with fire skill and of course fire bombards....boss goes down easy

Do a series of the best ship loudouts for each ship, can start with the best ships such as Padawak and the Brigantine.. Show us where you put each weapon and which weapon to use, furniture, and maybe some gameplay footage of you destroying ops with it
Eh, this game is too simple for those to hit big.
For instance, the pvp meta for helm wager is to use a boarding build and camp the turn in spot. For the map thing it's bombards and movespeed loadouts. For PvE it's all bombards as well. It's super boring at the moment. Maybe if the game evolves and updates.

dardanelles is useless, it fires all canons at once and takes just as long to reload and by the time you need to shoot your enemy it is still reloading
What a low IQ take. You fire ALL FOUR guns at once and ALL FOUR GUNS are now reloading so you swivel your ship and fire more guns during the reload. If you fire cannons individually each individual cannon still has the same reload time, you're just doing damage at a slower rate.

Given the grind you need to do to unlock the better guns, for only a 6s faster kill speed, not worth it!

@@biteuk if you can't get to the target area then yea. Im sure you will get killed and they nerfed it so the Brig is slower now during this event so other players can catch up to you. But overall its the best way to get items

Is the pieces of 8 thing only a pvp event? If it is then that is lame, as this game was supposed to have pve only servers and pvp servers.
If it's only pvp for these pieces of 8 weapons then I wouldn't have bought the game.
You can do co-op and pve but it's a much slower grind.

Hostile takeover should be happening ever half an hour? There’s pve events, hunts, plunder for materials, and you want to take the risk you can do the double or nothing PvP event.

Sigh, hate these types of videos because all these "meta" nonsense is such a plague in games.
Even if you go back in time GameFAQs and fansites showed the same types of tips and tricks. They were just harder to find and access.
Sorry I don't get why you you tubers should get an advantage in game I think If you are to be testers they should send you out an account show what the games about after games out your account deleted so you don't have any advantage over any other player.
