You plus ur computer to the launchpad and make sure you create a pattern and touch the keys in the exact order of how the beat goes accordingly. This dude did it perfectly and has has good memorization!
My next project will be very complicated (more than Flying Spaghetti Monster)!! I am not sure if one Launchpad is big enough. So what do think about to play with a Launchpad Pro AND a Midifighter 3D? There also will be a Projectfile for you!! ;)

Amazing how you remember all the sound and finger positions! You've got the timing and co-ordination nailed so I really think you could play any instrument if you can play a Launchpad like this.
Alexander Geiss I didn't mean he could pick up any instrument and play it straight away without any practice :-) But he's got rhythm and amazing coordination between both hands, and an understanding of music, and the dedication and commitment to do something like this Launchpad performance. All of those things would stand him in good stead to play piano or guitar. I started on piano as a kid, and have since played guitar for 25 years... My time on piano made learning guitar a lot easier, just like this guy's Launchpad skills would give him a big head start on piano or guitar.
I'm sorry to tell you but he's just pressing the buttons over a pre-recorded song. He's not controlling the timing of any sample with the launchpad, it's just for show. This kind of timing is not achievable by humans. You can clearly see this when he misses finger presses for drum rolls but they still play.
At 0:16 for example, but you can see it throughout the video if you look hard enough. His rhythm doesn't line up with the rhythm of the song, nor does he press the buttons the correct number of times. Just watch some good Stepmania, Lunatic Rave or Osu!mania players that have been playing rhythm games for years. None of them can, or will ever be able to do this, despite being the best in the world, because this kind of timing is impossible. All electronic music has and also requires perfect timing all the time, if it wasn't absolutely perfect, you'd immediately be able to pick up on it.
Starting to think that they just add the music to the launchpad, and whenever they click a button, the music goes, so it doesn't matter what they click. Or.... They're just skilled and illuminati has been CONFIRMS,W RD1!1!1!!!1!1!11!
+Red Crafter yeah good point i noticed that too, but maybe by using an instrument rack on one button of a drum rack he inserted 2 sounds in one button. if you look the most bottom button on the left (basically the first button of a launchpad) corrispond when there's the "ehy!" sound, but only the second time he pressed it, so maybe he used an instrument rack to put 2 sound on one button (yeah i knowm sorry for the shitty english lol)

He isn't 'Slightly better' Shawn plays different sets of sounds with one hand. He'd be playing drums on one hand while playing a melody with the same hand. In my opinion Shawn is the best in multi tasking with his hands with the different sets of sounds he uses.
amazing, but... how did you sample this down to the individual instruments? the sampling sounds clean to the point where it could have been stems you had used.... how did you do the sampling?
+Z.E.R.0 There's a website where the sounds are broken up into different sections so that you can single out certain sounds easier so that you can make things like this.
+Pixelmonster21 Well...how it works is that on the program (Ableton 9) after you load in the samples you highlight the sample you want, copy it and then paste it in the instrument rack where you want the sound to be. The video link in my previous reply might explain it better. Hope this helps!

There's the Launchpad Mini, which is mainly good for the older app, the Launchpad S, and the Launchpad Pro, which is the latest model. Any of them are good for beginners, but I would suggest you get a Midi Fighter 3D to start in finger drumming.
PlayCreatively Midi Fighter is the cheapest thing you can get that will actually help you learn effectively. Besides, you need proper software to get this stuff to work, and the software is expensive.

amazing, but... how did you sample this down to the individual instruments? the sampling sounds clean to the point where it could have been stems you had used.... how did you do the sampling?

+Pixelmonster21 Well...how it works is that on the program (Ableton 9) after you load in the samples you highlight the sample you want, copy it and then paste it in the instrument rack where you want the sound to be. The video link in my previous reply might explain it better. Hope this helps!

There's the Launchpad Mini, which is mainly good for the older app, the Launchpad S, and the Launchpad Pro, which is the latest model. Any of them are good for beginners, but I would suggest you get a Midi Fighter 3D to start in finger drumming.
