This would have been a great "April Fools" video! You're so hard working, I bought it, Mrs Laura Ingalls Wilder! I especially liked the lovely hairdo that went with your windblown "Laura Ensemble"! (BTW, that's very cool that Daddy colors with his little girl, but just between us girls, who's better at it? :)
This is awesome! Jill can you please do a homeschool video. I am interested mostly in the books you use. I am looking at homeschooling my kiddos.

Well, I waaas thinking how peaceful. I've actually cooked late in the evening by lamp light in the middle of the city.
Lol same but I was questioning her outfit after having watched several other blogs I was waiting for it kinda 🤷♀️ it was convincing for sure but the breakfast was the giveaway haha

hehehe-- yeah, even my cows thought I was crazy. The calves were enamored with the long skirt and wouldn't stop following me around!

LMAO, I thought you were serious there for a minute until you said "a 4 course breakfast every morning!" Doing chores by candle light sounded relaxing... Sounds like a great life!
If people believe being on a "homestead" means waking up at 3am and milking a cow by candlelight I want to know where they got their info 🤣
Hell, my great grandparents who immigrated from the old country (Ukraine) to the Canadian prairies weren't even up that early!

I giggled in the beginning because all your previous videos were way different than the beginning of this one. Typical homesteading/farming up early, work hard, family time, and in bed early to start the cycle over again.

But seriously, I love how accessible you make this lifestyle - you are inclusive because you are transparent, you talk frequently about how those of us that don't have an acreage can still be modern homesteaders and enjoy this lifestyle, and you are REAL. 🤣🤣This is the best video I’ve watched in a long time! You almost had me.....ALMOST. Questioned the dress thing but then thought, okay. Cows milk more by candle light got an eyebrow raise. But cooking breakfast for 2+ hours?.....EVERY MORNING? I started giggling. This was so good!! I love your channel and look forward to everything you share. Your life style is partially normal for me and the other part what I strive to achieve.
I thought, “Jill must be going through some changes, this doesn’t really sound like her...” and then boom! The real Jill showed up! LOL! I like the real Jill very much! Thanks for breaking the myths and being so real! I have really enjoyed your channel, the planner and your cookbook too! Learning lots!

Your life looks wonderful. You got me going with sourdough at the beginning of the pandemic because I could not find yeast anywhere. That was a fun experience and I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing your homestead.

You had me believe. I am very new to your channel. I must say that I am very old fashioned though. I do crazy stuff like that. But I love to cook and take care of things. Spending two hours in the kitchen preparing meals for my kids is what I did for them. Not two hours for breakfast, but definitely four hours each day preparing elaborate dinners. I would so have loved to spend another hour making breakfast.
And I love animals. My wife and I don't have farm living yet, but maybe in a few yrs when we retire. She has a family farm in New Mexico. We talked about moving up to the ranch/farm.
So when you said you were getting up at three-thirty, I said to myself, wow, she really is in the zone, and so happy and excited for each day. Then I was disappointed when you said "just kidding." While spending time on one of my brother's farms in North Carolina, that week I got up at five and fed and brushed the horses. It was just natural feeling. I wanted to spend some time with them while it was still dark out. It was very special and quiet.

I’m a new follower from Ontario, Canada and you had me going there for a minute. I thought “ oh man! I picked the wrong blogger to follow!” 😂 Glad I stuck around. I love your video content and, even though I don’t think I’ll ever be a full-fledged homesteader, I like following homesteaders and learning new cooking tips and gardening tricks. Added bonus: we homeschool too!

Your schedule is very similar to our schedule:) being 34, makes me feel so much better hearing other folks going to bed around 9:30/10 every night :) do you ever ride your house around your property? I always imagined taking my horse once I have mine and riding it everywhere on our 21 acres but I’m not sure if that’s not just my horsey romantic side❤️
Yep-- and sometimes we go to bed even earlier, ha! I do ride around our property sometimes!

HI jill, I live in Ireland & I thought I would like to let you know I use your recipe for home made bread every week ,I have also made the rolls + hotdog fingers,, I also make soda farls, and wheaten farls , as we call them here in Ireland ,love your videos, all of this because of covid lockdown , keep er lit .
