Do you use MM1s out there in Canada? They're a really regular piece of kit here in Finland, and I was kind of wondering if the bigger pocket of that chest rig could fit one. Thus far, every production I've worked on as a dedicated boom op we've been using an MM1 with an SMDB for wireless operation, it's a really popular combo! Talkback is usually done via a walkie into the MM1's monitor input if it's done at all.
They work I do it’s mainly independent and hallmark shows we call them MOW I also do some commercials and corporate, and I have never seen people use the mm1 I see how that can work they only down sound would be the talk back it’s not Possible anymore , a friend of mine does something similar but instead of the mm1 he uses a 48phantom provider to power up the mic and from there he just send it to a Smqv as well
Talkback is totally doable, as I mentioned, we usually just plug the headphone out of a walkie into the monitor input on the MM1. The preamp and the limiter on the MM1 are really good, lovely even! It's really hard to make one of those bad boys clip audibly. To me, using a plug-on transmitter would feel weird because it's harder to change gain and the monitoring/talkback needs more expensive stuff. I'd really like to try though, just to get to know what it's like not to have to manage cable all the time. I guess that really depends on what you're used to!
Is that Remote Audio adapter the one they make for their lav snake? You say that one adapter allows you to use Sennheiser and lemo lavs? I didn't realize that worked on the Lav Bullet since that's made by a different company.
Hey, RFLO, you will find these boxes in thousand variations as "tackle" or "utility" box in an outdoor/fishing shop like cabbalas: www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/tackle-binders-utility-boxes/_/N-1100380/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104620680

Idk if the chest piece would fit the mm1 but let me google the size
