Hi, NO, There are 7 different cam sets depending upon your serial number. Your specific model needs the "C" cams. They are a top hat. You also need a manual as it will show you the cams and how to use them. There are different sets of the same cam format so there are many options. Here is a set for a machine close to your model. www.ebay.com/itm/184468035280
And here are sets same type but for more advanced machines. In 1900 series versus your 1700 series. I can't guarantee everything is the same but I believe it is. www.ebay.com/itm/114438344070
If you need a manual I can get one for you. Just need your email to send a pdf copy. Myself I prefer to find an original and so will set a search on ebay so it will push it to me when one is listed. You should search for a 158.1700
Btw this model on video is a 158.5200 model. Which these cams are "E" series. Fortunately your model has many more machines that use the cams so they are plentiful. The set i was selling are very rare, and hard to find
Thanks so much for the info. I do have the original manual. Due to the move of a senior to an assisted living facility by an extended family member, I am waiting to see if the accessories "turn up" in another packing box. If not, I am thrilled to hear there are options. Now I just have to clean and oil it to get it going again! Been unused for several years.
hi there, i finally found some discs that fit my 52 model but they don't work correctly. every one of them give a little bit of zig zag and then straight stitch. like, it tries to do it but it doesn't reach them properly. any suggestions? thank you!
Do you have the manual? Page 16 and 17 explain how to use the disks. Only disk 1 both sides can you alter the stitch width. All the others have to be set at stitch width 4 and length at the red mark opposite the S. Now if you have set that correctly and the finger still does not follow the disk then I suggest it could be that the mechanism is sticky. I use lighter fluid to clean old oil, then oil with fresh oil. Only use plastic brushes to scrub as lighter fluid is highly flammable. And make sure you oil before you turn it too much. Hope this helps! If you don't have a manual I would say watch on eBay and buy a manual as soon as you can, they are very important to get to know your machine and maintain it.
Dionne Pray hey! I do have the manual and I’ve read it. I just had it serviced and was excited about the cams. I’ll do what you suggested. Thank you for your reply.
Do you know if it's possible to remove the thread cutter on the presser foot bar?
Looking for cams for my model 1752 aka 158.17520. Will any cams be interchangeable with this machine? Thanks!
