I had this as an adult and it was the sickest I've ever been. I had the rash on my hands and feet, but not in the mouth. It also didn't become raised or fluid filled. It was extreme. Very high fever that switched between too hot and freezing in the blink of an eye, terrible vertigo and my hands swelled to about three times their normal size. They also felt like they were on fire, the pain was awful. Just to add to the fun, I developed a secondary infection about halfway through. The worst part, besides the disease, was the fact that I'm a truck driver. I can't just go to the hospital. I ended up driving back to Idaho from California before I could get help. The interesting thing was that when I looked it up, all of the kids pictured were smiling. I certainly wasn't. It makes me wonder why it seems to be a relatively minor disease in children, but was so severe for me. I ended up taking more than a week off work and the disease ran it's course. I feel a great deal of gratitude towards the nurse who helped me with my hands. I could barely use them. Elevation was the key.

I don’t know what’s worse. COVID or HFMD? Massive migraine, chills, burning up, and joint aches. I can’t even pick up things because my wrists are inflamed. Experiencing vertigo as well. My first symptoms was temple headache and the right side of my throat felt like there was something stuck and kinda stung. Was coughing and having upper gut pain. @@user-vt9lv6pn4x No, we didn’t take any medication. Just OTC like Tylenol, ibuprofens to treat the fever and pain. My sister used throat spray. I just powered through it. HFMD for me lasted 2 weeks. I was able to eat normal again around the 8-10 days mark. My son improved by the 5/6th day.
I had HFMD a few years ago. Worst sickness I ever got and worst pain I’ve ever been in for a long time. My throat was full of horrible blisters that would burn like fire if any food or fluid touched my mouth, and I had these horrible blisters and bumps all over my body. My foot had horrible bumps on it, it was so bad I had big chunks of skin peeling off the bottom of my foot. I was so sweaty I had to change bed covers every few hours. It was absolutely disgusting and horrible.
Also rest helps a lot and cool air flowing throughout the room help u def will need someone to assist u in living around I wouldn’t try to do too much cause I learned the more u irritate your skin the worst it gets
This is going through our town right now. My youngest grandkids have it from spending an afternoon with a playmate who went to daycare. Thank goodness it's not in their mouth but it's ugly on their hands and feet. Never have come across this before with the older grandkids or my kids - although we did have 1 go with impetigo.
Got impetigo one day before my 1st birthday 🎂- still have a small pit like scar at the inner corner of my right eye and also a flat scar at the edge of my groin. And this was at the end of WW2 when there was little if any antibiotics so I guess I escaped pretty lucky after all.

@@mr-big-69 4-5 days with antibiotics and some local mouth treatment. It was terrible and I still have issue hearing with my left ear, which was affected by the infection. Word of advice: don't touch the ulcers, it could infect them even more. Try to drink a lot of water, I know it hurts. But you need to visit a doctor eventually.
Iv, 40yo healthy male, got this from my 3yo son. His symptoms were mild with just fever, sore throat with minimal blisters. I'm on day 3 of feeling under the weather with 102.7 fever, soar throat, blisters starting under my nose, soars developing on palms of hand and now my thumb nails are getting painful... Apparently lose of finger and toe nails is another rare symptom. FML

I caught this from my toddler son once and it was pretty horrible, but never had any nausea or vomiting with it so thank god for that. The rash developed on his butt right after the fever broke. The blisters were very painful and felt like I had been stabbed by a cactus and I had to wear socks to walk on my feet. They literally surfaced right before my eyes and were fluid-filled. My son had kept complaining that his mouth hurt on the inside. He got it from attending a church daycare in Hawaii. It caused me to have white specks on my tonsils. I was 28 when I had it. I got this virus from hell a month ago. The rash, for me, was merely cosmetic, a few sores in the mouth, a very mild sore throat, and a reddened, non blistering rash. My virus attacked the nerves in my hands and shoulders. Woke up on day 1, my hands woke me, felt like they were in a vise and on FIRE! First 2 weeks were the worst. First 2 drs. I saw were no help at all. Third I saw gave me steroids and high dose gabapentin. Don’t be afraid to seek adequate help, because this plague is no joke.
As an adult that is now recovering stay strong and persistent use Eason salt and stay away from stuff that will aggravate the blistered at all it’s very painful but u will get better by the 7 th day

Even treating with VANCOMYCIN causes feet-hand foot rash.
