@Cameron Woods Some digimon dont go to sleep until 1100 or 1200 so you might not have a light source. When I wake up the morning I cant see the screen unless I turn a light on. I agree about a color screen being nice, but a backlight screen would have been nice

I remember having one of these when I was in elementary school. I found them on the clearance rack at Target and I convinced a friend to buy one. We would battle them at recess until his died. I found out that if you removed and installed the battery repeatedly it would eventually start you with a random fully digivolved version. Wonder if these do the same thing.

Not the same digivice i had as a kid but glad they made this. I had the ones you had to shake to walk or i guess clip to your belt and walk around til it went off. Then I later had a newer model that had a scanner feature and the it had the human tamer on the device that could combine with a spirit to become a super powerful digimon.
That was a V3 device you are referring to. It succeeded this particular v1 shown in the video .
@@SpenserHarris what was that one where you just had to shake? That cant have been V2 because the one I had was a bit different than a friends. Mine had clear blue plastic on it and his had solid green. Both had a big button with arrows on it but mine had 2 arrows while his had only 1.

I got yellow and the egg hatched into an agumon. Idk if the colors matter :0. But im super excited!
They are all the same except for 1 egg that you can get from connecting to 5 different devices. If you have a yellow one you will unlock the anniversary Gubumon egg.
The first Digimon you get is always the version 1 egg from what I have seen. This is the one that has a chance at evolving into Agumon as yours did, depending on how you treat your Digimon obviously.
After your first Digimon you get to choose the type of egg to hatch your next Digimon out of

No, but you can train with each other on the same one. There are still single player battles, though.

It's the same as the old ones, it's a simple sprite system it doesn't have to be huge
Did the impact shots that show the death skull get reduced to just 1 flicker per scene, I remember they used to flash several times on the older ones also I heard this version retained the graves that the originals changed to a computer screen when the digimon dies. This kind of reminds me of reverse censorships back on the Tamagotchi games where they removed the graves at least on the Gameboy game and likely the halo too.

junior yeah press the top two buttons (A+B) on your Digimon’s grave/digiegg, this will let you scroll through and select a new egg!

@@issam3546 when you purchase the device brand new the battery will have a tab for you to pull to obviously turn on them high tech machine. anyway, what you do is pull the tab out and push the tab back in..repeat it while pressing the middle button repeating that also.. If done correct You will see your monster weak. Just feed it, hug it or something. But.. Good luck.. Oh btw i had the yellow one. It had more success getting the teddymon.

Me and my bros discovered this back in the 90s, only we took the back off and fiddled with the batteries, you loosen them and just as the screen is about to completely fade, put them back in, it takes multiple tries and you can get some broken ones, but if you do you just let it fade completely and start again until you get a glitched out, immortal teddymon lol.
It worked on later versions too I remember getting that alien one (the teddymon equivalent for that version) for my bro on one of his, not sure it would still work on these new ones though lol.

Dude no wonder this bombed sucks they didn’t put more money into this it’s garbage it could have been shaped like a digivice and had a much more complicated system
Dude... You have no idea, these didn't bomb, these are the originals these bricks came before the digivices and the digivices are actually stupid simple compared to these, you have to raise your digimon feed him train him, balance stats and depending on how you raise him, you get a different evolution, besides you get 100+ digimon in each of these it's all five original versions in one single device then you get a bunch of unlockable eggs that you get by progressing and exclusives that you get by connecting to different versions. They are much much deeper than a digivice.

I got the japanese one. Aside from cooler packaging, the game menu has minor japanese text. (Probably different mega forms that I don’t know of too)
What's this? A cheap, basic LCD game is backwards compatible with older versions but a whole console like XBox/PS4 that costs hundreds of dollars has no backwards compatibility whatsoever???? Hmmmmm ಠ_ಠ

If you go to the screen sohowing both Digimon in the middle screen, tthy will shadow battle like the originals. Tip though: there is a pattern of 6 rounds to memorise so its not exactly shadow battling, loses dont matter and it will train both digimon.

Yozora67 change the time to 9pm and then set them down to nap. They will sleep until the devices reaches 7am/8am. This will buy you plenty of care-mistake free time! Good luck!

For blue/brown = Botamon egg
For Yellow/Grey = (forgot the name baby digimon for Gabumon) and both applies to English version

What digimon does each color come with?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think Agumon is exclusive to Brown and Gabumon is exclusive to Grey. If they are like the 20th Anniversary Japanese versions, there's up to 115 different Digimon that you can get. I'll update this comment if I find out more information.

I know you have to fulfill battles in order to get the ultimate 'Mons, so it seems like there should be an option on only one device. Thanks :D

Yes you can with this 20th anniversary version. Which is good because in the old versions, you can only battle when there is another digivice to be battled. Which gives me alot of problems because I never could reach ultimate stage as I need to complete a certain no. of battles but I only have 1 digivice :(
