Are there plans to make the edges of tunnels connect seamlessly?
Sadly tunnel tools parents bullied me in school so I have to say no. I must have payback.
Tunnels are one of my favorite mechanics in all of classic sonic, why wouldn't I be nice lol

@@muffernutYep, bro has spent an entire couple years of his life just studying the genesis game's physics. It's actually crazy how long he's been doing this alongside making this game.

This handles difficult elements to implement quite well, I'm truly impressed. Fantastic stuff. The final release is shaping up quite nicely.
This is a certified tunnel tool moment, and it's great!
The UI design is only getting better and better
A couple arbitrary questions- is the tool able to be broken apart like the loop tool, and if not, can multiple smaller tunnels be seamlessly fused together to avoid the more oppressive bounding box shapes that surround larger sized tunnels?
That's currently up in the air! Tunnels present unique issues when hypothetically being broken apart, as they will be different between certain zones, and they are supposed to FORCE you into a rolling state.
I totally get why that's a problem though. I'll solve the issue one way or another.
@@SonicStudioProjIf automatic detection is a problem maybe you could manually toggle whether each edge had a seamless pattern or an edge pattern. That would be one way to match pieces together without joining them.

Looks really great but it would be cool if you allowed people to make multiple tunnels in one spot like in sonic superstars, or even to put loops in the tunnels like Sonic CD has (i think its does not 100% sure tho)
Like these tunnels are good and manipulating tunnels would probably be hard to code or simplify but it would be cool and add more creativity
I was wondering if the CD tunnel loops would be possible too, could be a cool addition (if possible, not necessary if not though :>)
So, like the Stardust Speedway tunnel paths?

Wowzer! I was impressed with the loop tools, but somehow this is actually cooler to me, despite being in an earlier state.
So many aspects of this project must be a nightmare to plan out, implement, and troubleshoot. Thanks for taking on such a challenge; it's honestly really inspiring!

I'm starting to get the feeling you're only making this game because the idea of hundreds or thousands of players making new Classic Sonic levels means that you'll basically have infinite classic Sonic levels to play -- So you want to make the toolset the best you can, so that the players can make genuinely great levels -- Because I can't imagine how anyone could put so much work into a fangame without expecting SOMETHING in return!
Every new feature you add, makes the complexity of the project go up, but it ALSO means that users will be able to make better levels! I know it won't be done for a while yet, but I can't wait to see what people come up with once this is finished! Thanks for keeping this project alive after all these years!
I'm probably gonna start to make and play a lot of levels with this engine shortly after it releases.
It would be cool if you could make alternate path ways in the tunnel! ( plus you could circles in the tunnel like in Sonic CD,s Palmtree Panic!)

you say the tunnel is "shy and still in progress", but I do wonder, will the ground made out of the tunnel tool seamlessly connect to other ground made by other tools at a later date?
a tool for that already exists, its a boolean connect tool (i think..?) it basically unites/negates (takes a bite out of) any piece of terrain that it overlays, so you could do that

Here's a neat idea.
Add a feature that allows the user to download the map they make as a PNG. This way they can use it in animations and other things.
Edit: Another idea, make it that you can swap style. it could change from mania, to advanced even to pocket adventure

1. will there be character skins / costumes? eg. that one suit and tie sonic wears in sonic boom or knuckles's hat?

3. I think that you should have more control over the tunneler (maybe draw a line or something through the rock?)
4. I mean no offense towards the tunnel tool :)
5. are you going to have a classic-sonic-sim like menu?
6. what will you release the game on?? I know how to set up gamejolt but not really anything else.
7. sonic triple trouble was great and I am happy to see that Noah is working on this game!

Although I'm a Mario guy, I'm still almost as much of a Sonic fan too, and GOOD GRAVY this game looks so good, and a lot better than Mario Maker.
I wish there was a Mario Maker game that's like this editor! Immediate love to the people making this, because I'm so excited to play it once the game eventually releases!! ❤

This could have some potential!
With the tool, tunnel terrain edges should meld together so they aren't so blocky when you use multiple.. and possibly also connect to regular ground terrain as well so you can have grass/floor on top of the tunnel especially when you're coming up to the surface out of one.
I am a HUGE fan of this game. Btw, the music is hitting hard it's so good.

Very cool so far, maybe have a third point in the middle of the tunnel so you can make it wavey like in Angel Island act 2 or other shapes
