Travelers who have arrived in the Country have praised Ghana’s Vice President,Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia for introducing an Electronic Gate(E-Gate) at the Kotoka International Airport.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on December 3rd, 2024 launched a cutting-edge Digital Border Control System and e-gates at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Accra.
The initiative is a landmark in Ghana’s efforts to modernize border management with a system designed, developed, and owned by Ghanaians.
The system integrates artificial intelligence, biometrics, and real-time data processing, streamlining airport procedures.
Holders of the Ghanacard can now use e-gates for seamless entry without manual immigration checks.
The system also accommodates members of the diaspora and international visitors through pre-registration of their biometric and travel information.
Speaking in interview with journalists at the Kotoka International Airport, some passengers who had arrived in Ghana through the Electronic gate, praised Dr. Bawumia for the digitization agenda.
They said, the E-Gate has eased the stress and long queues they would have been through during the manual check point process.
