I own a 6speed r similar to this, they are very interesting cars and no one gives it a second glance unless they are in the know. Great cars for what they are and the 6speed cars are incredibly rare. Most of them came with automatics.
I love my '05 R and its 325 hp engine, 6-spd manual trans and the tunable suspension. Bright red paint job and tan leather heated seats. Just replaced the turbo and fuel injectors at 175k. It screams!
Thanks for the tidbit! I did find this document suggesting that they both worked on it (hardware is for sure Monroe) www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-gb/media/pressreleases/5196 Thanks for checking out the video!
These fly under the radar in Australia and very rare. They are a bargain for people who want a big comfortable powerful sports wagon. Bmw and Mercedes should be last on the list in comparison
I got a vw mk7 sportwagen that had been modded, having a gti turbo being one of those mods. I would love to have a manual v70r is I didn't have my sportwagen.
I've got a 2012 Audi S4. Bought new, ordered it from the factory with manual 6 spd. It's getting harder and harder to find performance cars with a stick, but what manufacturers don't understand is that it's more FUN to drive a stick. Even in big city bumper to bumper traffic, I'd rather have a manual. Otherwise it's just sleep driving....
It's so funny, I agree. I rather be more involved in driving with the stick, even in bumper to bumper traffic, because I can control exactly how much the car rolls, etc.
I believe so yes. I don't remember off the top of my head but I remember the owner mentioning it. EDIT: So confirmed. Made by Monroe, developed by Öhlins.
REVlogue hell yeah. Till I found my friend that owned the same R wagon in your video with the m66. And two s60R’s. Right now I just got full 3” turbo back exhaust riding on 17” with bc coils. Last 3 things I need to do is turbo swap with fmic and shimmed block.

Love it I have a 2005 VOLVO S60 T5 6 SPEED SPACEBALL MANUAL AND 260 BHP ❤
Love those old school v70 Volvo -- l still own my daily driver, 2003 v70. Now almost a classic because one sees fewer and fewer of these on the road.
That 2.5 liter engine sounds amazing.
Sounds like a baby Viper
Love V70Rs. I was lucky enough to find one in Sonic blue
Congratulations that's a beautiful color.

I completely agree! If you can find one, they are one of the best bang for the buck. Thanks for checking out the video.
I’ve always loved how you can catch most muscle cars napping at the stoplights. The conversations at the next intersections are always a laugh 😂
The 6 speeds are not rare at all.
@ Less than 1000 total, is rare. The 6 speed in the s60r is much more common, but the total number of V70r is less 4000, which makes them rare.
Whenever i hear that engine and skid sound it sends shivers down my spine, its just so good

The suspension tuning was done with Monroe (who manufactures the shocks for Volvo). Not Ohlins. Ohlins only came in with the S60/V60 Polestars.

Ohlins designed the suspension. Monroe manufactured it.
Proud owner of a 2004 v70 R with manuel transmission. Updadet with stage 1. Buy now, it aint gonne get cheap i some years
PROUD OWNER OF A V70-R STAGE 3 TUNED MYSELF AND IT GOES 298 GPS KM/H > IT'S PORN‼️🥵🥵🥵

Underrated
Totally completely agreed.
I see some waves at the cliffs! @2:39
Nice car!
@0:23 The fact that the V70R is more foolproof than most is a bonus. Performance cars suffer from increased wear and tear. The V70R is no exception.
maintaining an older car is an art form in its own for sure 👌
I ahve it for 2 months now. In love.
great choice!
@@REVlogue
All the ones that I can find for sale have over 150k miles on them!
@@ntwalipat2 no problem for a volvo.
Got a 97 v70r love it

It's a pretty special car. Inline 5 sound is intoxicating for sure, but the VWs are also pretty cool!
Those look like firehawk Indy 500 tires. I have the same ones on my V70R - good price for sticky.
You sir are correct. They're actually Bridgestones in Japan and are totally underrated in my opinion.
Ha, yes 500 tires, they do well here in SoCal year round 😁

if you want to get the best sound from that engien, you should build a 2.5 inch exhaust system all the way from the turbo
I think the owner later added on some more fun mods 😉
Heard these things are a maintenance nightmare
Doesn't Monroe make the suspension for these?
I believe so yes. I don't remember off the top of my head but I remember the owner mentioning it.
EDIT: So confirmed. Made by Monroe, developed by Öhlins.
REVlogue Show me where you found they were developed by Ohlins. Everything I’ve read is it was Monroe and Volvo.
www.media.volvocars.com/global/en-gb/media/pressreleases/5196
I just replaced my OEM with Monroe. Work great!
I have those nebulas on my S60R
I found my titanium grey R with 66K miles it was registered overseas to one owner.
Amazing. They're getting so hard to find!

How'd you get the manual transmission? I thought none in the US got the 6 spd. Or is the 1997-1999 V70Rs that only came with automatics?
Very very select few had the manual I believe.
There's about 3-400 wagons that came in manual if I remember correctly
I own one. 2005.
what rims are those that you are running id love to get them for my s60r
I am told that those are 18" Volvo Nebula w 12mm spacers off of a S60. Not S60R. Feel free to check out @blueyedesigner for more photos :)
@@REVlogue great thanks much, they look amazing
I have Orpheus wheels on T5, I like yours, really similar. Mine were the optional 17" sport wheels that year
Beautiful car
Nice car unfortunately we dont have R and manual. What country are you in
United States. It's hard to come by here as well. Thanks for watching!
@@REVlogue do you know where i could get aftermarket parts on my 850 97. Will the stock v70r brembos and suspension fit?how bout transmission
I'm really not sure if I'm honest.
Bro, i think you have the wrong dog barrier - that's not for the P2R
The EV's literally get 26-28 MPG on the s60's that are polestar tuned etc. the new ones are also capped at 108 mph now
Audi RS4 B5 is a good choise too
That is the reason why i hate all electric cars …
