    Wow that was a lot of info! My tiny brain was starting to hurt watching this. Viewing your videos is not only great for the DIY folks, it’s also great for others to realize why custom builds are so pricey. Because I’ve been watching your builds from the beginning I was pleased to realize I knew some of the steps you would be taking to get those measurements correctly. When I first saw on FB or IG that this would be a 2 part episode I thought I was going to have to wait for another week to see it complete. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see them both today. Thanks for another great video and the fun outtakes, now my week has officially begun. 🚐❤️🛠👍🏽

    My Italian friend from teenage years was visiting India. A street urchin was pestering a tourist, and in sheer irritation he cried out, "Vaffanculo!". She spun around and said, "Un altro italiano!" (Another Italian!), and they joined forces to explore Benares, India. Only the Italians could invent such a lovely word for an insult.

    sometimes, there’s an A/B side on the prefinished ply - and flipping them would end up with a B facing out. It’s also possible to apply a single coat of Gleam marine varnish with microfiber cloth directly on the scratched area and have it disappear most of the time

    The Harbor Freight cheapo clamps will probably work for me, as I have no “World-Class Custom Van Shop” with which to wear them out so fast. It’ll take me years before I have to shell for more cheapies… (I priced ‘ole Bessey & she is pricey)

  • @Toolman93
    @Toolman93 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    George, Most track saw manufacturers make special clamps for their tracks that slide in the channel and clamp from underneath, and thus are completely out of the way and don’t cause the track to tip up - not to mention faster. Not sure if Kreg makes any, but the channels seem to be similar in size across most. I use the DeWalt track saw quick clamps in my Festool tracks because they are more convenient (and cheaper) than Festool (no surprise).

    • @HumbleRoad
      @HumbleRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something I need to purchase. Once my CNC router is up and running. I can cut a hole top work table.

    • @Toolman93
      @Toolman93 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humble Road , yup - the clamping possibilities are incredibly useful. And CNC is the way to go. I’ve made several MFT style hole top workbenches with the Parf Guide system, which works great but is very labor intensive.

    @bloodthirstysinner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    George, love your focus and attention to detail - the hallmark of a craftsman. One suggestion, which I hope does not diminish my prior statement or your pride in any way. You have an excellent circular saw there and likely a very sharp blade which is probably hiding the possibility of the problem/solution I'm about to describe: On that first panel you cut in the video -> Put the finish side _down_ when cutting with a circular saw. The blade teeth are striking the material as the blade enters the material. Whereas the way you had the panel oriented (finish side up) the blade is exiting the finished face. This causes splintering and possibly what you describe as a "blow out" in your video. No (minor) blemishes to remedy means faster product delivery in the end and keeps your options open.

    • @HumbleRoad
      @HumbleRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Sam. I appreciate your advice. Alex tells me this all the time and like the X marks, I am terrible at doing it.

      Would definitely be easier. But most of those clamps require the proprietary table or holes in the worktop.
