I have a RWS model 52, 22 cal. Its loud. This is from the 1980's. What I used was a muffler that attaches to an air solenoid. There were a bunch of old ones at work so who is going to miss one. lol Now all you can hear is the spring when you fire the rifle. Back then there were no moderators or silencers. You had to make your own. When I pick up a new pcp rifle this will be used first before buying one.

I have purchased over the past several years some 3D printed moderators that are actually quieter and more accurate not to mention under 40$ that work better than high end moderators costing over 200$. When I want a high end name brand moderator to finish the touches on my nice PCP I will often find the right size and style internally and cosmetically with a 3D printed LCD and then pay for the name brand that closely matches it. Sometimes I don’t to be fair especially on a sub 500$ pcp that just works perfect with a 3D printed LCD. Depends on the gun but this method saves me some cash and frustration as well.

Some work but the problem is there is a higher failure rate with them.
