Love those Tachyon Lances. Recently acquired two Executors and the first thing I though was "Those large energy hardpoints look ideal for Tachyon Lances." Then I read the "Energy Bolt Coherer" description and realized those hardpoints weren't designed for beam weapons. In fact none of the energy slots are. So this begs the question, "How effective would a non-beam build be?"
I'm finding the new Graviton beams give you some options. You can permanently debuff their shields by 10% for most of the fight while your other ships pound with Ion Pulses/Beams, Sabots or Kinetics.
Feels like it works as a faster moving, all beam weapons, Paragon. The Locust missiles keep it able to finish off anything it incapacitates and the Tachyon Lances have that burst damage effect for when you need to hit something hard and fast. Cool build; generally not impressed by the Executor as killing them is a fairly easy if you can realiably overload their shields, which is not too difficult as a player.
I'll try it tomorrow... I recall taking out medium warning system fleets and stations without any issues. Also took down a Nova ordos group in a danger system. Multiple ordos or Radiant might cause an issue, we'll see!
Yeah. The Dozen or so Ramparts that bull-rush you after you take out the mothership are the real challenge. Best to pick them off one by one and save the mothership for last, in my experience.

It’s really great. Pulse lasers in the medium slots and auto pulse in the large. Enjoy your Star Destroyer
I found it to be a massive bait tbh. I tried building it the way I thought it wanted but I think beams are just really solid even if not what it wants
High range laser builds are like perfect counters against derelicts. Remnants might be harder though with their speed and shields.

Yeah I remember doing a full high tech run with a beam Parangon as mother ship, remnants were my bane.
Who would win:
An ancient fleet of derelict space junk
Or domain hyper tech with unprecedented mobility and fire power

Uh but who is who?
Philip Andrada, of course. He's a genius!

Cool
How does it go with Remnant ?

Domain motherships are pretty weak, the hard part is beating the swarm of trash surrounding them.
