      Agreed. The film was superb and Ruth Wilson played her character wonderfully as did Tom Burke as ‘Blonde’. I only wish films such as this one were more successful at the Box Office.

    She is very articulate, I like her insights about the acting process. I'm looking forward to the film.

    Im glad she mentioned "Method". One of the reasons shes so admired as an actor in the US is her avoidance of "Method". To me, its a cop-out, an easy way out to go with the formula. Actors who are allowed to steer the dialogue more often than not, expand the narrative and involve the viewer more..

    Surely it’s dishonest to take out the violence?
    You are removing the stakes/ conflict of Blonde bringing her out of herself and despite that is abusive?
    That conflict would have created the gas the film needed.
    Also, he has kids? That sounds like the moral meat was removed.
    A shame in my opinion.
    (I’m a director).

      My understanding is he is still abusive. It’s just a bit different than the book. Everyone that has seen it has said he’s clearly a wrong ‘un and it’s still about her draw to him despite that.

      Or maybe we’ve already seen movies where men abuse women and it’s more interesting to focus on the motivations of women to use a toxic relationship to grow. And this movie is about a woman from her POV by a woman director and a woman DP. Maybe you should WATCH the movie as opposed to mansplaining it to everyone, orrrrr, better yet, you could focus on directing movies focusing on your own interests. ✌🏻

      @@YoYoRaeRae I have seen it. And just because it is an all female production, does that mean it is exempt from criticism? No.
      Am I mansplaining simply because I’m a man? Or am I questioning why so much of what made the original story interesting was removed - which would have made the film more compelling? Don’t label me something so ridiculous when it has nothing to do with my comment and is based on mere assumption.
      Salut keyboard warrior!

      @@thewheelchairone Why do you think it was removed? I feel like you're hinting at something sinister.

    • @thewheelchairone
      @thewheelchairone ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasinawhite6045 no I just think it’s easier to explore what they did. An easier film to make and therefore less stakes and less effective.
