The Affair explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together. Season four finds Noah (West), Helen (Tierney), Alison (Wilson) and Cole (Jackson) in their own orbits, alienated from each other, spinning further and further away from where they all began. Every character is involved in a new relationship, forcing them each to decide if they’re ready and willing to leave the past behind for good - with a season about new beginnings, tragic ends and the ever-elusive possibility of forgiveness. Sanaa Lathan (Shots Fired) joins season four as Janelle, the tough-as-nails principal of the charter school where Noah teaches. Ramon Rodriguez (Iron Fist) guest stars as Ben, a Marine veteran now employed by the VHA and Alison's new love interest. Additional season four guest stars include Russell Hornsby (Grimm), Christopher Meyer (The Fosters), Amy Irving (Yentl) and Phoebe Tonkin (The Vampire Diaries).

Two-time Olivier Award-winner, Golden Globe winner, and Tony Award nominated actress Ruth Wilson has paved her way in theatre, television and film. Best known for her portrayal of the character Alison in THE AFFAIR and of Alice in LUTHER, and for her work on the London stage, Wilson has quickly become one of Britain’s most lauded young actresses.
Wilson is currently in production on HIS DARK MATERIALS starring opposite James McAvoy. The eight-part BBC drama is a television adaptation based off the trilogy written by Phillip Pullman. She recently wrapped production on the BBC miniseries MRS WILSON, which she also executive produced. This series is based on her grandmother’s memoir, and tells the story of Alison Wilson, who, upon the death of her husband, is visited by a woman claiming to also have been married to him. She later learns that her husband was a spy with multiple wives.
Wilson can currently be seen in the fourth season of Showtime’s Golden Globe winning original series, THE AFFAIR, for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series. THE AFFAIR explores the psychological effects of an extramarital affair between a married woman Alison (Wilson) and an older married man Noah (Dominic West) in Montauk. Joshua Jackson and Maura Tierney also star in the hour-long series, which dives into the complexities of long-term relationships. This summer she can also be seen in the Focus Feature thriller THE LITTLE STRANGER opposite Domhnall Gleeson and directed by Lenny Abrahamson. She will return to Broadway in 2019 appearing in KING LEAR.
I love her. Just finished season 4 of the Affair... will not be watching season 5 without this gorgeous actress.
Her performance as Alice Morgan in Luther totally blew me away, wanted to see more of her characters and she’s now one of my favourite actresses. Phenomenal
