What a sad story. As the former owner of a G plate XJ40 Sovereign 4.0, which I bought in 1996 and put nearly 70k miles on before selling in 2001, I cannot quite believe how much the car industry has changed in such a short time. Thank you, as ever sir, for keeping us up to date.
Sir, as you know, we enjoyed the XJ40 we drove for the 10,000 Subscriber Special very much indeed. The car industry has indeed massively changed since the channel started, and this is symptomatic of it, sadly.
Proving that everything changes with time, sir. Though personally I would love to see the return of the luxury big-engined saloon, I think those days are now behind us thanks to government mandates and dramatic changes in market trends. At least we can console ourselves with looking at the many lovely classic examples that survive. Thank you, Joseph!
Yes sir, we would like some lovely six cylinder saloons with beige leather interiors and wood, but such things do not seem to be fashionable any more. The ZEV mandate does have much to answer for...
Jaguar dealers will only be selling used cars over the next year or so once the new cars stocks are sold. 🤔 Not going very well with the rebranding exercise, is it?! William Lyons would be spinning in his grave.
Joseph. Joseph. Joseph. My head is still burnt from the announcement almost a year back saying having a firebreak. No new car sales for a year. Then relaunch re brand.. That won’t work I thought . Planned demolition is how Geoff buys cars sees it. It’s awfully odd. And I won’t be commenting on the relaunch advert.
Sir, Mr Hunter and I have been discussing this whole affair behind the scenes, especially since the advert was released a couple of weeks after I recorded the video. I don't really know what else to say...
Jaguar have lost 70% of their business over the past decade. It has an overwhelming connotation with unreliability unfortunately as opposed to heritage. I think the controversial restart is overdue and I look forward to seeing its new models, especially the GT super-saloon. Jaguar’s problems really began in earnest when Lyons sold out to BMC on 11 July 1966. Ultimately, Jaguar is a business and it needs to operate like one. As for ICEs: most will disappear in the next thirty years as crude RTP ratios tighten.
@ I’m looking forward to the reinvented business. Sadly the corporate world is brutal and it can’t afford to be coddling. I’ve long hated the derision towards Jaguar and want to see them enjoy a new demographic. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out!
Joseph having seen this week what the new CEO has done replaced the logo got rid of the leaper and the classic badge and Williams Grace Pace and Space the advert people dressed in crazy clothes on Instagram removed the history and heritage of William Lyons and it's racing history this is a slap in the face for true Jaguar owner and lovers of them so in my opinion like we don't talk about diesels on this channel we should no longer talk about the Jaguar car the company will be gone in a couple of years I have been highly offended by what as been done sorry to rant Joseph best regards Andy Allen
Yes sir, this was recorded at least two weeks before everyone else's videos about this subject. I have seen the video with the new logo, and I don't really wish to discuss it any further, since so many other channels have already spoken about it over the last few days.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting I am sorry Joseph I overstepped on this subject just ignore this from me I look forward to your next videos best regards Andy Allen.
Audi has changed the designation of the cars. All odd numbers (A3, A5 etc) will be ICE cars whilst the even numbers (A4, A6 etc) will be fully electric.
The Audi A4 hasn't been discontinued really. They replaced the current model with the A5. Sportback is now the previous Avant and the Liftback replaces the A4 sedan. So basically they killed the A4 sedan and gave us the A5 liftback.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting A4 was sedan, A5 was "sporty" version. Sedan dead, wagon now named Sportsback, all got frameless windows. Not too difficult. And in future all even numbers will be electric while odd numbers will be electric. A6 is next in line to be replaced by the A7. And the A8 is just to be killed off imho... The engine naming convention was really terrible. I'll never forget the first A6 50 TDI I saw and being perplexed by the assumed 5.0 V10 :D

They've just screwed the lid down on their coffin, with their latest ad. Are we expecting a Draguar That Type any time soon 😅
I suppose that we will just have to see what happens, sir, won't we?

As an ex owner of a XJR and a 2.5 V6 SType this news saddens me greatly.
Sir, we enjoyed the S-Type and the X308 models we have driven previously...
Excellent MR Lloyd, Ironically, you made this video before the monumental failure Jaguar advert.
I actually recorded this at least two weeks beforehand!

Yes, sir, I think that you have got the right idea about them only selling used cars from the end of this year until 2026.
They have certainly discontinued their reputation!
I think that is what many people seem to be saying at the moment.

Yes, someone said the A4 had been discontinued in the UK. Is that right?
@@lloydvehicleconsulting No, the A4 will be renamed to A5 since it has an Internal Combustian Engine. And not only in the UK.
