Dragon Strike feels more like a nerf since it travels much faster that's less time it lingers denying space and less damage cuz it won't stay on things as long.
less damage? pretty sure its the same since the dragon is still long. but just moving to the side will be the same as ever.
@@maramba32 If the dragon moves faster, and you get hit by the whole thing, you will be inside of it less than if it moved slower. So I really don't see this as a buff, more like a sidegrade. Easier to hit, but less damage overall.

@@maramba32You have to understand that good Hanzo players also use the ult to create space and/or split up the enemy team.
Now that it's faster, the impact of that strategy is less.
I guess I mis-understand the ult:
I thought it was "timed".
The dragons are spawned and then continue to travel/generate on the map until the timer is up and then the tails show up and the dragons travel until they leave the map

With more tank buffs we will be even more incentivized to counter swap on tank. I for one will be able to ignore the squishies behind their tank harder bc I now have 25% headshot resistance. So I can focus more on beating the enemy tank in front of me

So is mirroring Mauga the go to now that theres a headshot reduction? I used to Ramattra headshots combined with his range and abilities to counter him. I guess Zarya is still the same bc beam, but Dva already sucked for the damage so.. unless i monkey around mauga i feel like im going to have to mirror him. Fuck this guy.

Tanks are not back please stop peddling this every time they overhaul tanks to make them either indestructible or melt like butter. As a tank main I absolutely despise this patch because it changed NOTHING except either making certain tank face offs an even bigger one sided fight OR basically two grugs fighting for 3-4 minutes without dying. Mauga this patch is just yikes. This didn’t fix anything, if anything it made it infinitely worse.
I’m still on the fence but I think we seriously need to start pushing Blizzard to at minimum explore 6v6 and the reduction of tanks from mini bosses to a flexible and enjoyable dynamic role. Also queue times this patch are scuffed again.
This seems very click baity, and it doesn't seem like they're changing very much at all. Changing armor slightly and adding headshot reduction is not the "biggest tank changes we've seen"
This dude misses every flux in his 1000 games of tank played he probably slurped up Aaron, Gavin, and Alec a couple times to get them to change flux to no longer require los 💀

Still good old counterwatch on tank, changing damage and health numbers has little effect when you are running back to spawn to swap..... It is a format problem, not a balance problem.
Format doesn’t fix hero design issues.

"Tank BUFFED!" might be a bit misleading. After some testing from before to now against a Rein as the basis, this is what I found: (Body/Headshot)
Dva (+8/+5)
Doomfist (+3/+2)
Junker Queen (+2/+1)
Orisa (+4/+8) - unsure of this one tbh
Rein (-1) - one less swing, which is big!
Roadhog (0/0) - no difference
Sigma (-1) - one less 2-rounded attack
Winston/Zarya - ignores armor so big for them
So as we can see, for the most part, it is not LESS VIABLE to shoot the tank as the tank - with a few exceptions. However, when it comes to DPS, that's when we see an interesting result. As for what I can tell, it appears that body shots require less bullets, ranging for 1-3, while headshots requires more bullets to kill, ranging from 1-3. While that may seem like nothing to some like Cass and Widow (who lost nothing as it was the same across), heroes like Ashe and Hanzo might want to do more body shots as the gap is far more closer than before. And of course, explosive and beam heroes benefit from this overall. They lost nothing, so expect more Junkrat, Sym, Pharah, and even Venture.
However, the biggest issue I see is not DPS, with a few exceptions, it is the Support.

Now while I do say that I am fine with a strong Support, this may be an issue as their power is slowing begininng to creep again, and I doubt we want to see that again. And when this was meant to be a patch for the tanks too!
*Biggest losers not worth mentioning (those who require 10+ to kill, both in headshots and body) - Mauga (when not on fire), Ram, Wrecking Ball, Sojourn, Sombra, Tracer, and Lifeweaver
not more Pharah, she's annoying enough at the lower ranks as is. better not get a mythic skin to promote playing her. was so annoyed when they gave Moira one.

tank role still miserable people will adapt anyway and make the enemy tank melt , also what the point of self healing buff out of combat if the tank main issue is during the combat

Wtf do you mean by "too much of an effective one-shot kill"? He either has one-shots, or he doesn't. Either he's good or he's trash depending on that factor alone without a full rework. This buff does nothing for improving the hero's overall playability.
The Hanzo ult sucked but could be used for area denial. Now it's maybe better for elims.
I like the comp change to match making because it addresses people complaining about constantly getting throwers and losing more often they they'd like. Honestly it seems like a good change but my only concern is how it's going to be for the people who are actually good where now they get a game that seems like a guaranteed loss instead of a 1 out of 4 chance of having a bad teammate.
Glad they buffed sigmas ult so now there is no way to outplay him when he solo ults my ass on dps for performing well for tge first 2 minutes of the game
lol don’t mean to be a negative Nancy but this titled made me laugh. I’ve not played since the changes to dps passive/health made tanking feel horrendous and despite this being positive it still doesn’t make me want to come back. The reason being , they always just be changing stuff and never really seem to know what they want the end goal to be and it’s the players that get connected to roles/heroes that pay the price. For me , 5+ years or how ever long this games been out and to still be experimenting as much as they do is insane. Hope everyone else enjoys it though. I will forever remember this game as having so much unfulfilled potential
Pretty much. Someone at blizzard needs to have a strong philosophy and make that a reality regardless of who it makes mad. They just bounce from role to role buffing everything until things get so bad we need a format change

Haven't watched the video but unless he says they somehow removed counter swapping and or brought 6v6 back its definitely not saved.
I think the matchmaking change could make sense. The matchmaker takes the queue and makes groups out of it, it has some algorithm to calculate the chances of winning for each side. It'll always try and make a fair match, but I surely expect the winning chances to skew to one side (even if just by a couple percentage points). Now, overwatch is a team game, there's 2 very different skills in OW, team play expression and solo play expression. Some players might be way better at solo carrying (usually the case for DPS players) and some players might be way better at empowering their teammates, I think this change makes it so that players who are better at TEAM play have a higher chance of success, when they get a team that is "expected" to perform well, meaning that they will likely respond better to being empowered, as opposed to ALWAYS needing to solo carry for a win. It would minimize the cases where you are maybe supporting and feel like the enemy team is being oppressive, but none of your teammates are being able to overcome it even with your support (which can also be overcome with solo carrying to counter whoever is being oppressive on the enemy team, but like I said, not every player can "solo carry", but that doesn't mean they're bad).
Lets keep changing 5v5 Ad Nauseam so that every season is basically a new game. No one is exhausted of learning how to play heroes over and over after every seasons massive changes?

I would say people hate Hanzo more now. Getting OS is frustrating, but getting killed by random bouncing logs and getting spamzoed constantly feels worse to me. Also now Hanzo players play with pocket to be able to OS, which is even more infuriating to play against

As a support player this game feels horrible. Basically no point in healing. Might as well play a DPS support because healing sucks.

Tbh right now it feels like the game would be more fun with 3 dps having little bit more hp, than a tank. The more you manage to ignore your ennemy teams tank the easier it is to win.

A faster dragon is something hanzo definitely needed. Gonna feel like the first months of overwatch 1 again when players reaction times were alot slower and dragon always hit everyone.

Idk Hanzo was already pretty good; I play him often at around plat/diamond and he's putting up results. This ult change is gonna be better than people think IMO.
@Sp00kyActi0n hanzo in higher ranks is bad. Tbh this change is almost a nerf. The main use of his ult in higher ranks is for zoning. So now since the ult is moving faster it won't zone as well. For me they should just add a slow when it hits you

7:04 I think it would help because I had times where I lost two or three games in a row because my team was not good enough compared to the enemies team to the point I was the one carrying my team and this is in low silver for tanks in high bronze for DPS
games that try and force 50/50 win/loss rates just means your rank will never be accurate. i havent really played any ranked game hardcore in over a decade because the games are never 'balanced' anymore due to this philosophy.
why cant they just look at the ranks of players and randomly throw similar ranks in a match together without all the stupid extra fluff.
back in the good ol Xbox 360 days i played so many different games ranked, and VERY RARELY did i ever see snowball stomps...but yet with how these developers have created the backbone of 50/50 (not just in overwatch) it just makes matches more unbalanced than ever

Seems like this ow2 balance team just can't help themselves lol. what fools. just go back to 6v6, everything is solved in 6v6

I think honestly the last thing they did is purely a cosmetic change to make it seem like theyve put you on a winning team when actually theyve done nothing but put a placebo into the game. Alternatively they may have tweaked the matchmaker to not put you on the more likely to lose side multiple times and they might have fixed it from being true random to weighted random like a tetris piece bag nowadays vs original nes where instead of you could be on either side of the win/loss likelyhood now if youve been on the loss side multiple times in a row they will cap the streak as to stop a spiral.
They should have stretched the hanzo ult with the speed change. This is a outright net negative for hanzo.
The match maker already has a built in bias. One team will already be project to be slightly more likely to win than another. The loss streak change just has it where that slight chance that already exists will be in favor of the person on a loss streak. The slight bias is unchanged for the overall match, but a player who truly needs to go down or isn’t playing as well will still get balanced out over the course of many games, even with the loss streak addition
I actually like the loss streak thing as a solo the game becomes unplayable no matter how you're playing

I’m kind of annoyed by them altering the way the game works just so bad players don’t get mad that they lose games.
I’ve noticed since the rank reset that my alt account that I use to play with my friends in the metal ranks can’t seem to get back down to where it was. It got placed way too high after rank reset and I just can’t seem to derank it anymore.
All I want is an account with low mmr so I can play quickplay with my friends without them needing to sweat constantly. And now Bluzzard just wants to pad everyone’s rank so they don’t feel bad about it.

Ranked system is unnecessarily overworked. Why do all these modifiers even exist? "Oh you lost this match, but worry not, because we prepared it for you to lose". Yeah, and the fun where? When? 'Cause I get 0 fun and learn nothing stomping people or being stomped. They are so worried trying to figure out where people belong that they forget that people is playing the game for fun.
I get 0 enjoyement when I break my ass trying to win a game and as a support I have the best heal and more eliminations than my dps combined and lose the game. And don't get me started when it says "Reversal" and you got stomped. Or uphill and it was a walk in the park. System is trash. Same shit but better explained. Unless they really fix the matchmaker the game will be a pain in the ass to play.
