I only ever iron fabric for making minis. I use a hair straightener bc I dont own an iron lol
Never toss any minis unless they're dangerous (sharp, broken etc). I've kept dangerous minis and reused them myself. Others I've sold as-is in lots.
Congrats on your treasure! I can't wait until you find the table!

The blue trash can is from the 1980s - it also came in grey and held hard candy shaped like pizza slices and other trash. I have two from my childhood; I bought them at a 7 Eleven gas station. Fun haul! I love the wooden octopus.

I will catch you soon up on my latest unbelievable miniatures and dollhouses’ sale I went to a few weeks ago! The sale was epic!

I knew if you saw this haul, it would be possible that you would be one of the very few in my mini world that may know what it was before I located in one of those boxes! I was thrilled when I saw it peeking behind some other items in the lot, I wasn't sure what kind of condition it was going to be in so I was very happy when it was in pretty good shape!
yes I need to see your minis from your epoch haul! can't wait!

So much fun to be had! I love too many things in this unboxing. If I remember right there was candy in that trash can lol. I’m so happy you found your treasure. I was getting a little nervous for you. I’m starting to really love the Petite Princess items thanks to your wonderful finds. I was mesmerized by the groovy screen on the TV. I hope the stand is in the near future for you, you know, less than ten years 😂. Much love to you xx

Oh I know, I really hope I can get my hands on the stand much sooner than 10 years! lol. That little trash can of candy was so fun, who knew we would want it for future dollhouse projects! I probably tossed out at least 5 when I was a kid, oh the 80's! The draw to Petite Princess was a little slow for me initially because of the scale but over time, as you know I've fallen in love!

Garbage can candy!!! 😂😂 It was shaped like fish skeletons, I think an old sneaker was in there, a rat, smashed tin can, and I can't remember what else was included. Aahhh...memories🥰The yellow and red items you were unsure of their name, are marker buoys. They're used to mark shallow areas, deeper channels, and generally any other water related potential hazard. I chuckled to myself when you sniffed and then accurately identified the odors emanating from some of the items! I chuckled because I do the same thing! LOL 😂😂 I imagine so many of us have that super power 😂😂! No no no! Don't pitch it 🥺 The hole can be repaired very easily and it's super cute!!Congratulations finding your treasures mini!! ❤

    • @WhitneyLaBrie

lol! I was so bummed with the smoke smell. It's funny cause in my teens and early twenties, I smoked (tell no one!). Ever since I quit, it's like I am oddly sensitive to the smell. Yes, I salvaged all the items with issues except the pink bed frame, it was just too damaged, and the wood was balsa, it smelled and I have plenty of wood scraps.
I was so happy about the tv! Oh how I have wanted that forever it feels like!

  • @lynnhill4530
    @lynnhill4530 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

You might try cleaning the smokey items best you can and then put them in a large plastic tote that can accommodate them along with a small wide mouth container filled with real (not imitation) vanilla. Back in the day before low odor house paint we used to put the vanilla into glass pie plates and close the door to the freshly painted room. The vanilla would absorb and nutralize the paint fumes. Not sure if it would work for cigarette odor but I think it might be worth trying.

    • @WhitneyLaBrie

    • @WhitneyLaBrie

there is something special about those pieces, maybe because they were really the first realistic furniture that had this "on trend" fashionable style for the time. Prior to that you were really limited to traditional and victorian type furntiture. Then came Petite Princess with these modern curves and bright fashion fabircs and colors and oh sweet it is! $15 is a score and as a "mini hoarder" I am quite proud of you! lol

52:32 The width of that bed is known as ¾ width. Back on the 1920s that was a popular bed size. Of course that was before they had anything larger than a full size (double) bed. The sizes available then were junior (smaller than a twin), single (twin), ¾, and full (double). This was before youth, queen, king or west coast (California) king sized beds were a thing. My grandparents still had a junior bed when I was little (in the early 60s). My little sister slept on it until they got us matching twin beds in '66.

@@WhitneyLaBrie A great source for period information is old Sears & Roebuck and Montgomery Ward catalogues. You can often find reproductions of these old catalogues in the library. Unfortunately, almost all of the old guard are gone now, but the written information is still available.😉

She wanted that so bad but it was too expensive for her mom to buy it for her when she was little. For some reason that really impacted me becuase it was the first time I thought of my grandma being little like me, and that she valued something so simple like a rocking chair.
