Great summary of what's needed for UK battery builders. Thanks. 🙂👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Great work Stuart. Refreshing to see T&E not being used, and the correct use of ferrules. Might be in touch soon.
Thanks for watching!
Great method to extend ct clamps.
Thanks 👍
Nice work Stuart, Look good mate for Australia.
Thanke
Thanks Stuart, Looking good
Thanks 👍
So helpful mate! I have messaged you on FB.
i always wondered how to extend the ct clamps, now i know, for when i add batteries to my system ,and bonus i have proably 200m of ethernet cable left from hard wiring my house years ago, cheers Stuart :) :)
Thanks for watching!
Just fpund this chanel today, thank you for putting in the work! I am a electrician from the netherlands and am working on a powerwall using nisan leaf battery cells. We are trying out the REC BMS at the moment and are loving your DIY BMS boards. Do you sell completed boards for a powerwall with these? Still sorting though your videos to see. Keep up the good work!
Welcome aboard! I don't have complete kits to sell, but it's likely something I will try in the future
Another very useful video Stuart.
I have an existing mini consumer unit in my garage that I can upgrade and wire the inverter into, however, I don't have an easy route to run a CT cable from my garage back to the main supply.
My Hypervolt car charger was installed with a CT cable and runs through the garage; is there any way I could cut into the existing CT cable and duplicate the signal to service both the car charger and the inverter? Would save at lot of floor lifting hassle 😅
I will not have any solar, battery storage being used to charge off peak and discharge during the day.
Without seeing the setup it's difficult to say. I don't think you can share the CT clamp, but does the cable have spare wire cores in it? Could you use those?
Looks good Stuart, planning something very similar myself. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the LiFePo4 cells! Got mine on order from Docan Power and should arrive in a few weeks.
Quick question - should the backup sockets not be protected by an RCD or RCBO and also have a AC isolator?
Yes, I need to update the EPS sockets to include RCD and also a ground rod.
Is it allowed to run signal (coax) and power wires (brown / blue) in the same conduit?
Will the coax cable signals be interfered by spikes on the power cables as they run in parallel over a distance?
Hi Jan, the cat5 cable (not coax) is connected to a current transformer, so the signal isn't "data" more of an analogue output, I've not noticed any issues with interference.
Technically low voltage data cables shouldn't be run next to mains power, but this signal cable isn't really a data cable.
The video is "dancing" around in this video like the video before. Any chance of any image stabilizing being turned on in the camera or on TH-cam while the camera is mounted on a tripod? That's a big no-no. Makes the image all wobbly to look at.
Yes I've noticed that as well, it's from my camera phone unfortunately all the video was recorded before I noticed!
So interesting Stuart , thanks , how easy was it to find an electrician to sign it all off ?
I'll find out today!!
@@StuartPittaway Good luck 🤞
He said yes! No problem :-)
@@StuartPittaway Big Congrats. a credit to your electrics .
