    I followed your video and now have a similar setup. I just wonder if you can connect 2x ME3000SPs in parallel to give a bit more AC power

      @StuartPittaway  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have completely separate setups then it should be possible, the CT sensors may fight over who provides power, but worth a test

    Could you tell me how the inverter behaves when it is night and the batteries are flat? Does the inverter consume energy from the grid?

    • @iainmackay9269
      @iainmackay9269 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The inverter doesn't take any energy from the grid unless you set it up in Time Of Use mode, in which case it can recharge the batteries on cheap rate electricity overnight.

    Remember a busbar Stuart for expand mate. I need to buy myself another hole enlarger use it to much. Is there a earth on your inlet wires as well?

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the incoming mains cable has an CPC (earth) inside it.

    On the flexible cables on the right you went into the trunking from below which looked a bit odd as they come across the trunking to get below the trunking. Was there a reason you did not attach them to the trunking from above so you could clip them to the wall later if necessary?

      They would have been on on the top as well. The bend radius just felt a bit tight on the top.

    Hi Stuart, by coincidence I’ve just acquired an HYD 3600es, which I think is roughly the same device as your ME3000 (but also has solar inputs). It didn’t come with a CT and I’ve had a lot of trouble getting the current rating and ratio of the CT. Any chance you know what it is (I can only get the model number for the CT, not it’s rating). Your install is pretty much exactly what I’m doing, so it’s really interesting.

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The CT doesn't have any marking on them, so not sure what they are. Seem to be some on eBay but at quite a mark up

      @@StuartPittaway Thanks for taking a look. I’ve been getting some wild readings with a 120a/40ma and a 100a/50ma CT’s. The only one that seems to give sensible readings is an ancient one from a cheap Eon energy meter with absolutely no markings on it either!

      Does anyone know what happens if the CT is disconnected. Does the me3000sp detect a fault? Does it ramp down?

  • @Whereswally606

    So the fire rationale for the wall dogs is that "plastic will melt in a fire". But then the trunking you are using is plastic so how is that rational? Or is that trunking metal?

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it's plastic!! However those clips which hold the cables are fire rated, so although the plastic on the trunking and also the plastic around the cables would melt, technically they stay attached to the wall.

      @@StuartPittaway screw fix does some deta galv tubing that would maybe work well for this.

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @AndrewLeigh yeah, metal trunking or tube would work fine. But so does plastic as long as it has metal clips to hold everything in place.

    Thanks for all the videos, as a newbie i am gaining a lot of information and a lot more confidence in installing my own system (and having it signed off and completed by a qualified person)
    why did you go for that particular inverter? i am trying to select an appropriate inverter for my own use, i have a FiT registered 4kw solar system already installed and want to add around 24kw of storage, i want to be able to charge the batteries from the existing solar and also off peak octopus electricity. in the future in also intend adding additional solar (not affecting the FiT payments) to charge batteries and provide power (and poss sell back to the grid?)
    is all that even possible??

    • @StuartPittaway
      @StuartPittaway  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used this particular inverter as its quite "hackable" and also several for sale on eBay !

    • @misterb5216
      @misterb5216 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StuartPittaway thanks, i am hopefully picking up the same inverter on wednesday - not really knowledgeable enough to source a suitable inverter myself as there are so many out there! i need an ac coupled so as not to affect my fit payments (same as you) so its easier to go for one that someone (you) has already checked re specs etc.
      the prices on ebay seem to be around the £700 mark, is that a reasonable price for a second hand inverter?
      i was also looking at the Sofar 6000KTLM G3 - would that also be an option? they are priced lower than the me300 and are new!
      as i said, i dont want to impact my current solar set up, i just want to be able to charge the batteries during off peak times and have my solar top up the batteries rather than import to the grid. i would also potentially also like to be able to add additional solar at some point BUT ONLY to supply the batteries/home use.
      i know that the AC coupled oprion is what i need and the connections to be made AFTER the generation meter
      thanks and best wishes

      @@StuartPittaway yeah just seen it. I think if I set it to charge battery mode from the grid at cheap tariff time and charge the car at the same time the battery can't discharge to the car. That's the theory.
