INGREDIENTS
* 2 cups soaked basmati rice
* 1.5 cups water
* salt to taste
* 1 tbsp ghee
* 1 cup masoor dal
* 1 tbsp turmeric powder
* salt to taste
* 3 cups water
* 1 tbsp oil
* 5-6 curry leaves
* 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
* 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
* 3-4 kashmiri red chilli
* 1 tbsp coriander powder
* 1 tbsp chopped garlic
* 1-2 bay leaf
* 1 tbsp green chillies
* 1 tbsp red chilli powder
* 1 cup chopped onions
* 1 cup chopped tomatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
RICE
Take the soaked basmati rice and add 1.5 cup water, salt and ghee
Microwave the rice for 12-15 minutes
DAL
Take the masoor dal and add turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups water
Soak for 2-3 hours
Microwave 15-20 minutes
Take 1 tbsp oil in a bowl and add curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, 3-4 kashmiri red chilli, cumin powder, coriander powder, chopped garlic, bay leaf, green chillies, red chilli powder, chopped onions and tomatoes
Microwave for 10 minutes
Add dal to tempering mixture and microwave for 10 minutes and serve hot with basmati rice
