    I know that this is not my typical content but it does provide a lot of background info. I get asked all the time about how I can do the things I do in my videos. The truth is all this past training makes it very easy for me to attempt any restaurant challenge. Not that I win them all, but if I know what I am getting into then I usually fair well. That said, I don't feel that anyone should attempt to do what is in this video. It is just not worth it and I can almost guarantee that you will not make any money in competitive eating. There are probably more continents on Earth than there are people making any real $ in competitive eating.

    Bob, I am so glad you posted this. I love and respect you and I love your videos, but wow, chugging like this is so dangerous. Drinking much more than 4 litres a day will start to dilute your body's salts and minerals i.e. the urea and electrolytes which would then cause hyponatremia.
    I saw a recent video of yours, where you drank 40 small bottles of flavoured water whilst on a running machine. I was going to post this message on that video but forgot, so when I saw this one come up, I thought I would post. I am glad you are not chugging anymore. Keep posting without the chugging; apart from past throwback videos of course. God bless. ♥

    All that water and not eating and working all day. That is nuts Bob. I eat an extra half pound in the afternoon or eat a little late, I cant sleep. There seems to quite a number of eaters who do well on TH-cam. But has to be a hard way to make money still.
    Please keep the Throw Back content comming Bob. I am enjoying them.

    • @NotoriousBOB
      @NotoriousBOB  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your support. This video is about competitive eating in an eating contest where there are relatively decent rules and relatively accurate measurements. TH-cam is entertainment eating. Almost no TH-camr will weigh the food on camera and fewer will eat with the food on a scale. It is like watching an actor play a Dr on TV. They aren't doctors in real life. Many will eat with the food at least two feet away from them so the camera makes the food appear much bigger. Not calling anyone out, just like I wouldn't call out an actor for not being a doctor. For TH-cam, water training is not needed. All about camera angles, different camera cuts to be able to take the food away without eating it, putting food in cups or napkins... That said I know many TH-camrs that make WAY more than every eating contest eater. They make many multiples of Joey Chestnut. Keeping that analogy, there are many actors/actresses that make WAY more than any real doctor. All good, no complaints. It is much easier to make $ on YT than at a contest. I have been fortunate to be able to do OK at both places.

I guess it could be done if you dropped food into a bag or something. In a contest I once ate 23.4 lbs in 6 minutes. So eating 10 lbs in 30 or 60 minutes isn't hard for me. That said there are very few legit 10 lb challenges. Only believe any weight in a video if the eater is eating off a scale.

    Hi Bob! I've never been a competitive eater, but I used to have health problems, and to heal them I had to eat a raw vegan diet and do long juice fasts. Due to the low calories, and for my convenience, I had to eat or drink massive amounts of food in one sitting. I thought I was a freak when my stomach capacity was 4L. I was embarrassed. Now I love professional eaters and look up to them and their massive capacity. I've been watching you and others for about a year but I was still completely mind-blown by your 2009 stats. No one will ever beat those.
    I'm very curious, how do you personally train your jaw? I got massive jaw muscles eating very large bowls of freshly made raw vegan coleslaw (so the cabbage had not softened). It's done with a cashew base so it's low in calories and doesn't make you feel sick.

    • @NotoriousBOB

      Certain elite eaters shared knowledge with each other. I could always eat a lot and when I found out you could get paid, I was hooked. Part of it is my stomach has adjusted, but I can still feel full after 'normal' overeating. I will probably never lose the ability to 'turn off' my brain during a challenge. This is what makes challenges so easy. Let's just say the majority of the water went out quicker than it went in.

    How many pounds of food would you say is a good amount for a person training to be even remotely able to finish challenges. I know everyone is different. But is there a guideline or something that you or adam or brandon or eli would go by. Just curious

      you can get challenges in the 3.5 - 4 lb ranges. While I don't recommend anyone train...if you were going to I would suggest skipping breakfast and lunch. Take all that food you skipped and eat it with dinner. All 3 meals as one meal. When you can do that starting adding liquids to the 3 meals. This will get you used to eating larger amounts. Find your own way though. 99% of the info out there is totally false. There are no 'meat sweats'. There is no correct order to eat things. Ex must do fries first, must eat the roll first, must eat fries last. Must eat it in 10 minutes before you get full...all these things are made up. If you can eat 5 lbs of food then you can eat 5 lbs. You can do 1 lb in 25 minutes and lbs 2-5 in minutes 26-30. It is all in your mind.

    So, the bottom line is that everyone should try this at home. That's what I took away from all of the cautionary infographics.

      Well that is one take. I won a lot of $. It would be very hard for you to name to many others that made more than me at the table. I was right place, right time

    Hey bob, mixed views on you effectively re posting this (it's in ya back catalogue for those that look) but seeing as you have, when you used to chug, how do you think you'd go against badlands? You know, in ya prime 😉

    • @NotoriousBOB
      @NotoriousBOB  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This has been edited to answer all the questions I get over "how do you do it?". Also I said on Tuesday I would be posting re edits of some older videos. I love Badlands, anyone who knows him does. I clearly know how I would have done against him in my prime, and if you know my past catalog you will see me when I was past my prime as will did at least one of the same chugs. If we did it again today I feel that it would end the same way.

    Ok, I give up, you said that you did your morning chug “ before work “. What do you do for a living? Your boss has to be understanding of your restroom break situation!!

      I always worked in an office so I was close to a bathroom. The vast majority did not leave my body that way.

    Hi Bob, it’s Jeff from Lebanon. I got a question. Why is it dangerous to train with water? It’ll just make you pee like a Russian racehorse and you’ll be going all night not getting any sleep lol. Also, didn’t your bosses get upset with you because leaving work and running to the bathroom all the time because my boss I worked at a prison in Lebanon County here and my supervisors will get mad at me because I had to go to the bathroom all the time cause I was on a water pill boy, I bet you could beat that badlands chug guy at that time. I don’t know his first name.

      Called water intoxication. You get a saline drip in the hospital. Water has no saline. Brain swells and you die

    How do hot girls stay hot in this sport?

    • @NotoriousBOB
      @NotoriousBOB  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not even close to knowing how to answer this. To me a hot girl is one that is intelligent, confident with good energy, kind and a killer smile. This sport shouldn't change any of those things.
