Spoken Word with Tevin Carr

Our series of artist videos were made possible with the support of the Iredell Arts Council and North Carolina Arts Council. We received a Grassroots Arts Grant to provide arts education content for our outreach partners and the general public. We have three fantastic artists this year who each made three videos that we are excited to share with you on our TH-cam channel.
Tevin Carr aka XIEVEN or Neighbor Hood Hermes was born and raised right here in Iredell County and has stayed closely connected to the community and culture since his birth. As a Statesville Senior high School graduate, his letterman jacket is decorated with regalia symbolizing his participation in varsity sports (Football, Basketball, and Track and Field), Marching Band, and the Renaissance Club. After high-school graduation, XIEVEN would explore his collegiate endeavors at Catawba College where he earned his BA in Political Science and afterwards at Elon University School Of Law where he earned his JD. After exploring careers in law and education, his heart would settled in entrepreneurship tailored to his first love; Music. XIEVEN is currently a producer & audio engineer at Sleepy Studios in Troutman, NC. “Sleepy Studios is the very first business I started during my entrepreneurial journey and will always have a very special place in my heart. I aim to grow and scale it to be the centralized hub where all the surrounding creatives come to create, collab, and vibe out. Sleepy Studios will also be the location where I record my Spoken Word lessons for the program.” - xi
