This is probably my favorite song of all time because of how simple it is. Keith's voice is just absolutely perfect and you can tell that his genuine emotions were coming out in his music. The two different winds were his love for music and Lorrie. Him and Lorrie went through alot and I will link a video down below about Keith's life that I really think you would enjoy. I also think you would really enjoy his song "I Never Go Around Mirrors". All of his emotions just pour out into the song and the steel guitar is just absolutely beautiful th-cam.com/video/Wlq7UfRHijU/w-d-xo.html
Always a big fan of Keith Whitley, was a sad day May 9,1989 and will never forget the sadness I felt that day he was a great entertainer and there'll never be another as great as he was thanks so much for sharing and"Howdy from Texas 😁"!!
If the wind is blowing like that, it seems it might leave someone in somewhat of a tornado; just spinning; not knowing what to do. He seems to have spent his life being twisted-up by tornado's. He is one of the few that I cannot turn off when he comes in the radio ---- I pray he's got peace now.💕
Stone the crows - how have I not heard this before? Beautiful song. Sounds like a tormented soul singing it. I hope he found more peace in the afterlife than he seems to have had on earth.
Keith Whitley was definitely gone way to soon. Another song you should react to is Vince Gills song “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Vince was Keith’s best friend and Vince started writing this song as a tribute to Keith after losing him. But he put the song away unfinished and then finished it after his brother passed away a few years later. So the song was in honor of both Keith and Vince’s brother.
Keith got his start singing lead for Ralph Stanley after his brother Carter passed away in the 1960’s. Check out “Thy Burdens Are Greater Than Mine” by The Stanley Brothers
I am not sure if this was the official video, but I find it interesting that the first image is a tour bus. Many tour buses from that era were made by the Bluebird Company. Perhaps a double entendre to love of touring and love of woman?
Winds, in my opinion, are individual journeys or paths lives take. The wind may push me towards one direction, while another wind pushes you a different direction. Bob Segar references a similar thought in "against the wind".
Keith whitley long black limousine don react the song will tear your hart out if you like gene Watson farewell party don you will like long black limousine by Keith
8.3. Lol! That is a classic that no one can top. Respect your opinion but this song with the vocals and rhythm smokes an 8.3. This is the definition of real country right here. Gone too soon. 9.3 if not more is about right here.
@Trey Alexander Keith is incredible, and I may have been spoiled by his other songs I've heard and reacted to, but I suppose every artist or group has some songs that are either just okay or aren't very good. I remember being so pissed when Zeppelin came out with their Carouselambra album, and man did most of those songs suck. Keith's song in this reaction was good, but for whatever reason it seemed to me to be a good song, but not great.
I find it hard to listen to Keith. His alcohol addiction is so sad. When Keith passed my late husband was coming to terms with his alcohol addiction. It's just sad.
Don you should listen to the album of kieth Whitley and Ricky Scaggs secound generation. They sound like the s Stanley Brothers, they was around 17 years old at the time. Dream of a miners child was a heart breaking song and very well done. You should listen to the whole album you’ll enjoy it. 👍 on the vid

Take a listen to Keith whitley little boy lost. Love the channel.

He's talking about Blow, cocaine and the highway wind
Dionne Warwick also refers to a Kentucky Bluebird in Message to Michael
You should do anything from sundy best. Not a band anymore, but they’re a good feeling Kentucky band.

This is a minor point, but Keith called Sandy Hook, Kentucky. His home. It’s in Eastern Kentucky. I love his music. I cried when he died

Don, the two winds could be his love of music & home. The one wind ( his career) pushing him away, the other, pushing him home & to Lorrie ?

Keith was from Sandy Hook Kentucky
