I own a '09 JK. Years back I did my front bumper, fender flares, and fender liners; I left the back bumper alone. When I saw the side brackets I thought it was going to be loose, but seeing this video, I should've gone ahead and cut it up too. I've since gone to aftermarket metal bumpers (front and rear) stubbies, of course, but I'm still rocking the trimmed OEM fenders and liners. I used black rounded-head-phillips screws and put black door trim around the edges of the bumper caps to give them a ''cleaner'' look. You did a good job and overall your rear ''stubby OEM bumper'' looks better than factory. You mentioned something about relocating your license plate, I went with a spare delete and moved the license plate to that area using a kit I bought from Amazon.

Awesome! Yea I relocated my license plate to the spare tire carrier, my fenders were trimmed but my son stepped on the back one and used it as a step to climb in the back and snapped it off. I went with rough country fender deletes for max articulation. I figured they would get ripped off on a trail anyway. The rear bumper is still holding up well. Thanks for watching

Thus looks great. I know what I'm doing tomorrow.
Maybe paint it and the fenders with tuck bed liner would look even better. New Sub

There are certainly different ways of going about this but the premise is the same. Most times jeep bumpers aren't worth much after you take them off anyway. My whole build has been around less stuff hanging out to the sides, since I have a stubby front bumper and fender deletes the rear bumper stuck out and I didn't want it to snag on anything and get hung up. But it's free and functional.
