Everything (and I mean everything) comes to end, eventually. You start to really learn this as you approach middle age. I've seen so much change and evolution in my life, things I thought would never change. I never imagined video games becoming like a digital type of "service". I never imagined TV falling out of popularity. I never thought I'd have basically a whole PC to carry around in my pocket every day. Never thought I'd see the video game industry start to collapse, maybe new video games as we know them will become a thing of the past? I've tried VR and personally, I don't think it is a suitable replacement for traditional gaming. Still could go that way, but for me I would draw a line there. Just give me a screen and a controller, I don't want to be "in" in the game.
Vanna White still got it! Enjoy your retirement Pat. Your likely right about the end of consoles generations. Nintendo seems to have mastered Smash Brothers and Mario Kart and can only improve them by adding tracks and characters respectively. The first person shooter/open world concept appears to have been optimized in a similar manner. Props to Nintendo for striving for innovation by attempting 3D again with the 3DS and motion controls. The manufactures and developers will likely try to maintain their hold by attempting to make gaming a service which will keep things limping along until another breakthrough in technology occurs. Until then.
I have been saying for years now that gaming has hit a ceiling. The market is flooded with games. We are going to have another crash, and then the new generation of gaming will start.
Gamers won't experience a 2D to 3D tier revolution in gaming until VR gets mastered! The last 20 years has just been mastering(which happened in late 2000s) & miniaturization of 3D(PSP/Switch).
Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy. The show starts, and you watch people play a game. No bull****. Kind of like retro gaming. You put the game in and start playing. No downloads, paywalls, or servers. No bull****. As for VR and AI? Man I don't know, sounds cool I guess but it's not for me.
Honestly if video-games get that immersive i will just quick modern gaming no lie, this really does not sound appealing to me at all especially at my age so i would just stick to retro and not look forward. I never enjoyed VR or 3d gaming aside from the 3ds so i don’t imagine the ai immersive new reality of video-games would bring me in if anything it will turn me off and im ok with that. Video-games are too immersive as it is in my opinion.
The Last new game console I bought was the ps4 and it wasn’t that good. Not interested in the new generation. Gaming consoles are just not exciting like they use to be and I don’t see them coming back,
Doubt I will ever get a ps5 or new xbox, with all the downloadable content and micro transactions just doesn't work for me. Vr isnt ready yet makes you feel sick and looks crappy.
There will never be a utopia on this planet. Neither digital or in reality. We squandered that away a long time ago.
I'm shocked that you're not showcasing the NES copy of Wheel of Fortune in this video!

For me playing F1 in vr would be amazing but I prefer retro gaming and shorter games.
