- I guess it makes sense that the mood of the house can be controlled by one person since so much of our lives already revolve around her needs. It's not a bad thing, just an observation.

You are so right, i have looked after my daughter who has a brain injury going on 13 years and everyone, in the household just seems to have her needs met and our days revolves around what her days shedule is and this involves myself, husband and her daughter and her sister, with no thoughts of any one elses needs to come first and everyone just goes along with this with never a second thought to it being any other way.

I truly understand as I too schedule my day around my son, and his mood.
Mama and Papa did well raising 4 chicks, now the fledglings have left the nest, nature at its best. It is quite understandable Abbie's moods control the house, so you all gravitate to try and help Abbie navigate her moods the best you can, you are such a wonderful loving family. Blessings.

Definitely relate to the mood thing! As a teacher, when one student is having a rough day, it feeds to the whole class. All the staff will try to be extra dramatic in the opposite direction to try to even out the tone of the class…but it can really bring down the whole day. At the same time, when a kid show up to school happy and goofy and giggly, we get to reap those benefits!

the parents were comfortable enough to build a nest in your area and on a moving door no less! that's really amazing and you are lucky. yes the babies are ok. the parents may come back for another brood building , have you got an extra wreath that's built like that one? you could hang it over on your property divider and they'll go there!

We live on the lake and are surrounded by a lot of trees we have so many creatures lol and it’s so fun to watch the birds, the squirrels,chipmunks and most of all lizards we have TONS of them probably due to all the insects we have as well but the baby lizards are by far the funniest and cutest to watch ❤😂
Years ago, my late aunt and uncle owned a lake front house, boat and dock in the Lake of the Ozarks! It had 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 bathrooms and a basement with extra space for guests to sleep in. It also had a nice sun porch! The living room had a sleeper sofa.
I think it’s just part of being human or being a parent that we are impacted by our children. My children are now young adults and when one of them calls me having a hard time, I am immediately sad for their pain. I am an empath and very connected to my children. Their tears hurt my heart and that’s been going on since they were tiny little people

Talking about the mood conversation , I’m a special education teacher and I feel like it also is because when I am in a bad mood, I intentionally will curb my mood when I get home so as to not ruin my husbands mood, but Abby will not do that, just like when you talk about people coming home and her not being excited, Abby is going to be in the same mood no matter who she is with or what is happening around her so that is automatically going to effect more people.
I got those bowls in blue. I love them. Use them all the time. Love them so much I bought them for my kids houses too.
Thats how it is even when you are a care provider for anyone .

Asa I believe it is the norm for someone with a family member with a disability. I can recall growing up if my brother who was mentally handicapped had an episode it would put a crimp in what ever was planned. There were times my parents would continue with the activity but it already but a wrinkle on the event. However it was imperative that he participated goes he always wanted to be involved. 😊😊😊

I don’t think it’s specific to you guys. It’s like the saying “if mama ain’t happy nobody’s happy.“ People also say smiles are contagious so it might be that too. I think we are all effected by each others moods to some extent, It’s how we connect to each other.
