      Smart people make small fires, get close and stay warm with little fuel. Dummies make a huge fire, stand way back, burn on one side and freeze on the other, and burn through all the fuel fast.

    It would be great to get some info on how good the low power gas control is - whether you can actually cook on this. Does the low power provide the ability to do things like pancakes, simmering a pot slowly etc.

    I suppose I could use that with a 20 lb propane bottle with adapter. May be a better option then the high output propane 2 burner I use for shrimp boils, steam bath, and pressure canning. If I knew it had longevity I'd use it in the outdoor kitchen area. With the 4 burner propane top and the 2 burner high output I'd be set. I don't know if I'd use it with cast iron it may send it up to temp to fast and cause cracking.

      My question too. Hope he reads and answers what the btu is. I will check the product link to see if it says specs! He spoke at the beginning, maybe he mispoke because he said Watts? At the end he spoke without specifying the btu's when he kept saying btu's!

  • @Ma_Ba
    @Ma_Ba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The amazon link says 12,800 watts. I looked at google to convert to btu's but didn't understand because it said hour rates. I am trying to compare this to the Iwatani which says it is 15,000 btu's and costs less by a bunch. This says $126. The Iwatani was less, but then it goes up with S/H .(The particular pertinent top model is not on amazon.)

  • @Ma_Ba
    @Ma_Ba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Iwatani from Central Restaurant Supply website has 15,000 BTU's using 8 oz. canisters of butane for fuel of about an hour's run time at $2 a can. They are "portable," but marketed at caterers rather than campers. I had to wait for it on back order from Japan, but it is now shipped. With shipping it was about a hundred bucks. The company makes other butane portable burners with less btu's for less money with different wind screens and different burner layouts that were more readily available on amazon. I started with the company's website for full listings of their lineup. Styled for Korean meat tabletop bbq also. Plus, I have a question about sources for the butane canisters. REI with 10 percent later rebates for members is having the 8 oz canisters for $2 the way to go compared to buying cases from restaurant supply store? I think so, but figure that is a question if you were going to run this thing a lot whereas I am using it as another option.
