When Billy and Stu were killing and Gale was covering the story, she was very relentless and was hounding Sidney which was illegal since she was a minor at the time and was very tactless which ended in her getting punched out of disgust and hatred. Here she was very respectful and nice to Samantha even going up to her all on her own free will. While hounding her would have only been tactless since Samantha was 24 here, she instead showed her sympathy about the situation even bonded with her over how Judy had a dislike towards them both. Her only reason for reporting the murders was because her producers asked her to. As for Dewey, she may have liked him when they first met, but she was still manipulating him for selfish reasons. Here her primary reason for visiting Woodsboro was out of concern for Dewey and Gale helped to defeat Ghostface to solely avenge Dewey even opting to write a memoir about him after the Ghostfaces were dead. They may have split but they still cared about each other. The fact that she accidentally said Riley upon first seeing Dewey but didn't correct herself out of annoyance was another thing that highlighted how she felt about him.

I literally hate that dewey got away from Gale just because he belongs in Woodsboro, Gale and Dewey should have stayed together as a married couple and had kids with each other in New York and dewey should not have come back to woodsborrow ever again.
I really hate how they actually killed off Dewey like that! As much as I’m happy and glad that Sidney and Gale still survived, Dewey should’ve survived too. If they bring back Stu, Randy, Kirby, and Kincaid for Scream 6, I hope they survived too. They should either let David play a new, different character who reminds Gale and Sidney of their late friend or #BringDeweyBack #BringStuBack #BringRandyBack #BringKirbyBack Also, if Sam and her sister Tara return, I hope they and the twin siblings survived as well too

I wouldn't call this a fight really. Yeah they may be arguijg but you can see the love and remorse they both have.
