    Thank you so much for your video. I have incurable cervical dystonia. The worst bit is the chronic pain I suffer and the dystonia affects my sleep. It is very debilitating. Your a very inspirational young woman. Thank you. noel from London

    I have had cervical dystonia for 22 years. I have been having Botox injections that many years. It's truly a blessing to have this treatment, but it's not perfect and doesn't get rid of the dystonia and you can have other things from the botox and it is in no way a cure. Sometimes it helps quite a bit and sometimes it doesn't help much.

    Botox is very effective- however it's not a quick fix. Took about four years of quarterly injections before being truly corrected. Back in the day before much was known about Dystonia (70's) and during the trials prior to "Botox" receiving a din number, approaching this as TMJ induced was common. The DMRF today states that true Cervical Dystonia is probably caused by head trauma or genetics. They still don't know.

      I'd lean toward genetics as I have cervical dystonia, as does my cousin.

      I think neck injury can cause cervical dystonia too. I have CD mostly due to injury to neck and head.

    Hello. my name is Rogério and I am from Brazil. Nice to meet you. I was
    diagnosed with cervical dystonia. I would like to know if a remedy
    (natural or not except botox since I am already taking it) could stop
    the head tremor or at least make it less severe. Thank you.

    This is fantastic... how do I go about finding out where I can get a TMJ evaluation? I suffer from Spasmodic torticollis for 4 years now. I do PT, acupuncture, Botox and muscle relaxers but none of it lasts too long. I would love be able to sit straight up without my head pulling to the right, giving me shoulder pain, stiff neck, neck spasms, headaches, loss of balance and slowly feeling my quality of life fading away. I live in New York. Can you recommend a doctor or treatment facility??

    I have yet to be diagnosed with cervical dystonia, but functional movement disorder and one doctor said it looks like spasmodic torticollus but isn't a neurologist. Its been 3 years since the onset of my symptoms and it has plateaued to my current state where i can walk and talk on my own. Are there any diagnostic tests for dystonia?

    • @sam.n7762
      @sam.n7762 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There some common typical things with torticcolis. Like if you put one hand to your head or neck, or lay down or stable your head, the spasms stop. As long as I know these are the only diagnose methods for torticcolis symptoms. But the reason of torticcolis can be different it can be dystonia (what is not able to diagnose activly) or a brain tumour or some other things.

    • @noelcampbell1672
      @noelcampbell1672 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need to see a neurologist to be diagnosed but dystonia often gets mis- diagnosed. I was told I had Parkinson's disease as the symptoms are very similar. Lots of love from Noel in London. BTW it is great to know we are not alone. take care.

      @@noelcampbell1672bruh I do have cervical dystonia also known as spasmodic torticollis but comparing this movement disorder to parkinson disease is way different bruh cervical dystonia affects only in neck and head though in parkinson disease it’s about extremities muscles and limbs tremors in hands and legs,calves,arms and feet. They’re are types of movement disorders but not the same disease!
