You are truly an expert with ps5s. I have one ps5 which is stuck in safe mode. Only option 8 is enabled (reset and reinstall system software). When I reinstall it will reach 99% and crash with error CE-100060-7. It will force to reboot and crash with different error CE-120645-8. And then over and over gain with same errors. Can it be southbridge?
Nice work as always. :) I have a puzzle. EDM-020 board. All power rails present. Thermal cam shows components heat up as normal with exception to ram module 6. I also have no fan. Southbridge has been changed and reports in UART. Ram module has been changed. I was going to re-ball APU next as last effort. Thoughts?
It could be bad connections under the APU. Maybe remove the RAM IC and do diode readings on the pads that connect back to the APU. Look for a missing diode reading.
@@ToltecMerc that is exactly what I was thinking. The solder connection for the ram back to the apu. I did take diode readings on all the ram modules while they were soldered to board. Took the readings from the two small inductors mounted to the sides of each module. All modules read 0.4 but the 6th. That module reads 0.1. Either I got a bad ram module shipped to me or a pad under the apu has become oxidized was my thinking. Thanks for the reply. I will lift module 6 again and take readings back to apu. Do you have some known good readings for that area from other jobs?
Hey quick question , I did a Bios swap on a dead ps5 works fine now , did the harvest swap on BWE BUT everything transfers but the Wifi MAC address it’s just blank on the system Info so I can’t connect it to wifi now , any ideas on what it could be ?
Have you looked at the file with a hex editor to see if those offsets are blank? Did you use the BwE "Harvest" option? You have to be careful and read the prompts carefully. You have to load the donor dump first and then select the file you need to harvest from.

i,m kinda shocked at the build quality of these ps5,s . they where only launched 4 years ago and have many revisions even to this day ,there failing like silly .i have a sinclair spectrum 48k from 1982 from when i was a kid .and it was used .everyday .and it still works today . are sony building these ps5 out of cheese . and i stll have load of amstrad computers ,that still work . 2 year old ps5,s failing ,power supplies failing .that,s not good . they just build stuff like they used to :)
I love the way this kind of repairs is done on this channel, the replacement of the SB was not even the main event today it was that tiny mosfet 😄

I am in the US but I am only a hobbyist. I'm not really a formal business. I have done work on consoles for some people as time allows.

I would guess a problem with either RAM or the SSD. Maybe try reading the error codes with a serial UART.

Correct! The part I used was purchased from AliExpress and already reballed with lead-free solder most likely.

Have you ever had a ps5 the immediately shuts down after opening a game or app but works fine in the home menu
I have heard of this problem. I believe it can be either a RAM or APU problem. It does seem to be common.

The PS5s are of lesser quality that the PS4s I think. Sony is just slinging them out the door.
