'Umpah umpah' is a word used in Korea when they first learn swimming and try to hold their breath underwater. They practice regular breathing by saying 'um' as they inhale and 'pah' as they exhale. The lyrics have a swimming theme.
the subject with debuting really young idols has been around since forever sadly. Even tho SM did not debut yeri at a very young age, they did make Taemin, BoA and many other idols debut at 14...

I watched your video and wrote some information.
1. Yeri joined Red Velvet in 2015.
Yeri debuted with ‘Ice Cream Cake’MV but the ‘Automatic’MV was released first.
These two songs are from the same album.
2. In addition to Yeri, BoA, Changmin, Taemin, and NCT DREAM debuted at a younger age than other idols.
3. “Umpah Umpah” is a Korean expression for the breathing method used when swimming.
4. 'Umpah Umpah' music video details:

They always about summer or halloween. And that is red & velvet. Also whatever song they drop it always creepy, scary, or something that will make you feel uncomfortable.
In birthday they shout out some songs too but some bsides

I think Yeri was always in the final lineup but Red Velvet debut was rush and kinda use as a cover up for shit that was happening with another group in SM but that like one of the few theories to why Yeri wasn't there in Happiness a member and the other was that RV was supposed to be a group where members would have been added little hence why we see Yeri and others girls at the beginning of Happiness MV but but again nothing was confirmed by SM as to why Yeri was added later to the group (and she received so much hate for it and for years!!)
Right before Red Velvet debuted, the South Korean Fair Trade Commission changed the labor laws forbidding trainees under the age of 16 from working more than 35 hours a week.
This would have been extremely disruptive to a newly debuted group as Idols sometimes have to work long hours. Especially where video shoots and travel time are involved.
So she was added when she was old enough.
This also explains why RV's first comeback was a cover song.
And SM has been trying to create concepts where they could add new members to an existing group for a long time. They did it with Super Junior (and members got a lot of hate then too) and of course it is famously part of the NCT concept.
It makes a lot of sense from a timing perspective though because if you only debut a girl group every 3-4 years, that is a long time to wait if you have a talented trainee that is ready to debut.
@riffgroove yeah could explain why, but be natural was a dance cover from their trainee days for Irene and Seulgi and they choose Taeyong who a trainee to do the rap part so it does make sense to take a trainee to do it and he even wasn't on music shows with them so Yeri could have do soo. Yeri debuted when she was 15, so the law thing didn't really make sense, but I guess with the Korean age system, she was 16 to their eyes
But again, SM can't make a rational and logical decision cause a simple announcement during their debut would have solved a lot of things
