  • You awake to the reflections of the sunlight from the ripples on lake Como dancing on your bedroom ceiling. You breath in heavily and can smell fresh tomato's and chopped basil, if you listen very closely you swear you can hear mozzarella sizzling in a pizza oven. You get up, take a swig of the San Pellegrino from your nightstand and walk over to the balcony where the sweet fresh Lombardian air hits you face. You look down to admire your latest acquisition, the greatest car ever made, the Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD Eleganza, and you smile. You finish off the San Pelly and waste no time grabbing your car keys, today is going to be a good day.
    Yes thats right, we've done it, a Fiat Multipla review. One of the oddest cars ever made and today we're going to see what all the fuss is about.
    Up against MPV rivals such as the Renault Scenic, Citroen Xsara Picasso, Ford C-Max, Vauxhall Zafira, Chevrolet Tacuma, VW Touran, Honda FR-V, Kia Carens, Mazda Premacy, Mercedes Benz B Class, Mitsubishi Space Wagon, Nissan Almera Tino, Peugeot Partner, Seat Altea and Toyota Carolla Verso what is it about the Multipla that makes it stand so far out from the crowd?

    I loved my Multipla - the original "duck's bill" version is still the best. One of the most practical cars ever - and a great tow car too.

    One of the cars you loathe, until you sit in it a drive it. Got it last year and I don't regret buying it. 1.9 multijet has all the power you need, and the space inside... I don't use my tent on a camping anymore 😎

    Great video. The clutch/gear linkage is definitely on its way out on that Multipla, the gearbox on the Multipla is actually really nice to use when its working properly.

    I had two of these back in the day. Fantastic car to drive, easy to park and the diesel version was very economical. Obviously, many people joked about it's looks, however on the odd occaision I let other people drive it. they were always pleasantly surprised about how well it handled.

      The Multipla does have a lot going for it in terms of visibility, economy and practicality. The handling was the thing that impressed Jasper the most about the car!

    Greetings from the USA. We never got the Multipla here but it looks practical and somewhat fascinating. You three are hysterical, you gave us a proper laugh while watching and I thank you for that. Keep up the great work! We have two Fiat products, a 2017 Fiat 500 with the proper 1.4 fire engine that has not burned up as of yet a 2016 Ram Promaster City, that is really a rebadged Fiat Doblo. We've had a great experience with our 3 years with the 500 and also with our seven years with the rebadged Doblo with the 2.4 tiger shark. Thanks again and keep it up gentleman and I'll try to see where we can get some of your gear for us.

      @@BuckleUpShow Yes, the tiger shark 🦈 2.4 puts out 178hp with 174 foot pounds of torque and with the ZF 9 speed trans it moves rather quickly for what it is. Thanks for the response and we look forward to more laughs and more informative videos from you guys at Buckle Up!

      Perhaps only in Italy was it a real success. The value of used cars has remained high and even today quite a few are still on the streets. Many methane-powered ones were also sold here.

    Yea to be fair the 1.6 petrol is actually nicer to drive, it actually handles better too and sounds quieter but it does rev quite high during higher speed cruising but overall still recommend the petrol over the diesel for Multiplas maybe one day you guys should try it out 😉

    The new multipla face-lift was to bring it in line with the new punto, stilo and panda frontend. The previous face was to match the punto, bravo(a) and marea. Not cowardice, but as usual FIAT pandering to motoring journalists who would say "it's fantastic, if only they did this small thing", which they then do, and it turns out there's another "small thing". The same treatment that's meted out to Dacia and MG these days.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m afraid we’ll have to politely disagree with you, David. No other Fiat had a separate platform for their high beams. It was a design choice. This could have been kept when the did facelift, but they decided against it. You yourself say they pandered to journalists. If that’s not cowardice, we don’t know what is.

    • @davidspencer7254
      @davidspencer7254 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Buckle Up I don't think they were afraid to be bold, they had a corporate look to follow. They did after all keep the Multipla on, dropping plans to evolve it it because they needed to fund the PSA joint venture that resulted in the totally unloved Ulysse.
      But yes, listening to motoring journalists is not the way to succeed in life. Nor it seems is paying too much attention to NCAPs fascination with a scoring system that favours terrible active safety aids and the current obsession with burying car functions inside nested menu on a non tactile tablet nailed to the dashboard.
      Unlike of course the Jogger, which makes for an excellent Multipla replacement including being able to fill your garage up with seats you don't need.

    • @davidspencer7254
